An old British trick, controlling population dissent by opiate addiction as a hard core mechanic, a monkey wrench worse than Conquistadors to the Hispanic. Nice to hear though that the role of good nutrition, in the womb, in the first two and four years of a child's life, and across the span of generations, in terms of brain development and good educational awareness, were appreciated.
Hey Rollins this is the very system which U claim that have pomped Billions of $ in vain to help Africa! If Africans in American aren't Helped nor have they been fairly treated?Billions to help Africa? Any reasonable African will tell U that China is far more useful toAfrica than the West!So far nothing is changed! The problem is only shifted to some other Africans!France carpet cleaned the IvoryCoast of Gbagbos sending 1million of refugees to Liberia to solve the problem !Thanks again the West!
I wouldn't mind if Rollins parked his ego for just a second actually tried expanding on this. He's a great interviewer simply because he cuts to the point, hes not kissing ass or making jokes every 10 seconds, be digs deep and brings out surprising info from the actors and or musicians he interviews.
This would be the best program on the air in a quasi-perfect world.
hey sammy, it WAS a revolution. after the fight for equality, although they havent escaped racism yet, they (black people) are in a MUCH better spot than 40-50 years ago, and no one can say that it was all for nothing. more "whites" are "accepting" of "blacks" and vice versa, in some cases to the point where hate is completely out of the picture. that in itself was worth the fight, was it not?
It wasn't a revolution by any means. It was steady riots amongst their own community. That is stupidity not revolutionary. The million man march is a revolution, peace walks are a revolution, the Black Panther were a revolutionary group, but nothing about rioting your own town is revolutionary.
This show is just too honest. Have you ever seen SLJ talking about civil rights on a tv interview before? But yes, even with all this serious talk, it's still way more entertaining than anything Jimmy Fallon could put together.
@NepperCat They wouldn't bother putting anyone on mainstream television with something relevant to say. Plus, I don't know if Rollins would go for it in that he would be effectively becoming a cog in the media machine he rants against so often. That said, i would watch that show every single night!
Yes, but most people don't want to see or hear this type of in-depth interview and discussion at midnight on a weekday. It's too heavy before your about to fall asleep; most people just want some humor and some cleavage.
The reason I like Henry Rollins as an interviewer is that he's just such a good listener. He's not trying to push his point on someone, he's not trying to lead the conversation, he just asks a question, and just lets the interviewee speak, and he gets some really good material.
And when he responds, he responds to keep the conversation going, to get more out of the current topic, instead of just constantly changing topics and making stupid jokes to keep people entertained.
I don't think that Henry is necessarily a great interviewer or a better interviewer than some but the people he interviews and the questions he asks are actually really thought provoking.
He's pretty adequate but I think he's a bit too ingratiating at times. Does ask some hard-hitting Qs sometimes tho which is EXACTLY WHAT THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA SHOULD BE DOING in our "be sickeningly sensitive times".
Rollins is now my favorite televised interviewer. How's this for a match?: I think my second favorite is Tavis Smiley. Both often ask questions that are INTELLIGENT and that I might ask. Informative stuff.
Heroin; the greatest trap you don't see coming until it has it's hooks so deep in you that do can't even see what a fuck-up you've become. Want to lose precious time in your life? Want to lose all the real friends you have?
Want to end up completely useless, dead and/or in the gutter? Stick that needle in your arm, jackass.

this is a damn interesting interview, way beyond the normal stuff you see come out of most interviews or junkets.
some people say hank isn't that great an interviewer, or isn't that well-spoken, but you can't argue with results.
he's not slick, but his conversational style and unusual angle of approach seem to drag interesting things out.
