  • Can you please explain how basting the skin helps with the flavor of the actual turkey meat? You said that butter will slowly bring itself into that bird, how does this process occur?

  • @Manuelc33 Imagine when you put on sun tan oil or lotion. Its absorbed into the skin. The heat of the oven opens the pours to help the process. Just like in humans when we shower and the hot water opens our pours.

    Yeah sounds like that would be some very flavorful skin but as for the meat how does this apply?

  • @Manuelc33 He mentioned near the start of the video that basting only impacts the meat about a half inch or so deep. Not sure the exact measurment but it isn't much.
