We call each other "commrade" and have these annoying debates about which faction of the russian revolution was correct, not realizing how alienating and intimidating this is to the new comers who have good ideas and wanna help our movements but dont feel adequate enough to do so because we make them feel stupid. We throw words like fascism around without any context and add fuel to the propaganda war against us that we're losing...badly. The American radical left is quite pathetic at the moment

This is a great point, ive been on the left for quite some time, evry group/ organization/collective is inundated with people who talk like their in an academic seminar, wether its socialist, anarchist, communist etc... doesnt matter. The left is very much out of touch with working people in general and the worst part is, is that alot on the left realize and discuss this at three hour meetings, than do nothing (real at least) about it.
