It's time for Dr Paul to stop beating around the bush and explain to the People that the Federal Reserve is essentially a private monetary cartel - a private bank. He knows it is. He needs to explain that the nation borrows from this private bank; but what we really should be doing is making our own money instead. It's a no-brainer. This one single change would bring incredible prosperity. Watch "The Money Masters" for more information on this. It's on google dot video dot com.
how can people not understand what ron paul wants to do to help our economy? so many people bitch about inflation and poor housing markets, but yet they go and support a candidate like senator mccain, who has absolutely no idea what he's talking about when it comes to the u.s. economy. no other candidates come close to the amount of knowledge ron paul has about our currency and economy as a whole... RON PAUL 08
Ron Paul at it again!! However , he is right ofcourse in saying that we need a new monetary system. My own research, and development project of Transfinancial Economics holds the key.....and yes, it does not deal with a limited gold standard!!!!!
We've abolished two previous central banks in the USA. We've also returned to sound money twice. Once after the continental dollar collapsed, and once in a more orderly manner, when we redeemed the civil war-era greenbacks for gold and silver.
The problem of the current monetary system, fiat currency and privately run economy, is correctly identified.
ATTENTION PLEASE, be warned that a return to the gold standard will only favor those behind the current Fed fraud, the NWO, who's institutions such as the IMF have been buying up gold reserves from government treasuries. Clearly in the hope or eventuality of a DISASTROUS RETURN TO THE GOLD STANDARD, THAT HURT THE USA AND THE WORLD SO TREMENDOUSLY IN THE PAST.
It's about competing currencies not a gold standard. This would create a market monetary policy. Any medium with some scarcity would work.
I agree that if we have a monopoly on currency of any kind like the Gold standard that could be used to the benefit of those who have cornered that commodity.
Only a money monopoly can hurt the USA and the world economy, not the medium of exchange.
As long as you have freedom, you will have prosperity. If a new monopoly of centralized control is enforced, then we're in the same boat regardless of the medium.
Gold and silver are constitutional money for gov't issue. Paper is not.
The good cop vs bad cop routine is a deception designed to make you forget that they are BOTH cops!
Fiat vs Gold is a red herring, Fiat is better than gold if used correctly, but Bankers Fiat vs Bankers Gold are both a racket. The problem is not Fiat, its Banker issued at interest as 'Money from Debt'.
Who is going to issue the GS money and where will they get the gold? Sure, when bankers had the gov go out of GS who got the gold at bare bottom market-flooded prices? Joe hobo? No Bankers and multi-millionaires. So who has the gold now that everyone will have to pay to get reserves from? Bankers and Forbes etc. Of course theyre smiling. And unless you reform fractional reserve banking and bank loans the GS wont mean shit anyway because most of the money is not even currency its debt.
(thats unless GS implies loan reform, in which case its a plus, but you still get the 'whos controling the gold' question and the straight jacket effect on the economy.)
You're right about Fiat being better then Gold standard, but Paul is talking about a competing currency. Whether it be gold vs, silver or gold vs. fiat. If you go back to strictly GS then you are making a huge mistake. Ron Paul understands this, and he's the only candidate that does. You also have to abolish fractional reserve banking. You can still have a central bank but not a privately owned one. Ron Paul knows this.
The nation must print it's own money without having to pay interest to a private institution to do so for them and thereby hold the nation in eternal debt, for which it needs to print money to ver and pay further interest on that sum.
The autonomy of central banks must be removed, AND WE MUST NOT ALLOW A NEW CURRENCY TO BE BACKED ON GOLD, THE OLD TOOL OF THE INTERNATIONAL BANKERS. IMF HOLDS HUGE GOLD RESERVES AND HAVE THE POWER TO REVALUE GOLD AT wHAT THEY WISH IT TO BE.
Anyone who says gold backed money is a crazy idea is going to feel silly if and when America does it. If a competing currency came out today, redeemable in GOLD, how many of you would trade your dying fiat dollars in a second for it?
The naysayers will feel awfully dumb when they miss that boat.
He was bolstering his argument by pointing out that the people who are most damaged by the fed's reckless expansion of credit are those living on fixed incomes. Any contention that inflation doesn't affect domestic prices is absurd on its face. Think about the (imported) energy component cost of practically everything that is made.
I believe I have a better way to collect individual income taxes and would like to have the opportunity to discuss my concept with anyone in the fair/flat tax camps.
I am trying to find the video where it starts out with I think a Thomas Jefferson quote and throughout the video there are numerous Ron Paul quotes. The quotes also kind of fade in and its hard to read them quick, you have to pause the video. But it's a really good video and has Steve Forbes supporting Ron Paul among other economists. Any help would be appreciated.
Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke made the incredible assertion during his 11/08/07 JEC testimony that the devaluation of the dollar will not hurt Americans buying domestic goods. We should be very concerned that a man with his power makes such a foolish and disingenuous statement.
He partially conceded the point, which is why he responded by specifically bringing up the elderly, those on retirement. Go watch the video again if you forgot.
Money needs competition. Tyranny can be defined as "no other choice" and that is what money has become. Money is the tyranny of our lives.
Gold currency is probably impractical because gold is over $800 an ounce ( that's a VERY small coin. ) How do you buy something which costs $50 with an $800 coin? Silver, on the other hand, might be more practical. Look at my State-based proposal for silver "freedom" currency at stevemoyer dot us
As you spam, the point is individuals may choose one currency over another on the basis of the issuer's demonstrated ability to achieve purchasing-power stability for that currency. Public confidence can be maintained only by a currency that is convertible at a fixed rate into some stipulated commodity or basket of commodities - which could include gold and silver.
nodesnetwork - You could continue to use paper or anything else practical to represent money but it would be gold or silver backed. Right now the USD is just paper and ink and can be issued in any quantity without reference to any tangible thing - that's an invitation for those in control to rip us all off AND they have done exactly that. It's time the Constitution was respected.
ShaneKorte - If you are indeed a fascist then you ought to know what a fascist is. "Oppressive, "intolerant", "genocidal", "authoritarian", "intolerant", "dictatorial", and "aggressive", "diabolical" all fit but Fascist political and economic system is simply a marriage of corporate power with politics. i.e. All the above seem to fit the NeoCons.
You're confused about what Fascism is. Fascism is not inherently oppressive, intolerant, genocidal or any of that.
Fascism is a meritocratic totalitarian state with a corporatist mixed economy and a system of enforced national solidarity. (Propaganda, militarism, etc) Its not necessarily authoritarian or oppressive. Although it CAN be. Google "American Fascist Party"
kurikuridonuts are you trying to disagree that a "Fascist political and economic system is simply a marriage of corporate power with politics."? - I said the other things fitted. Our experience of Fascism in the 20thC and now under the Neocons has shown they fit rather well.
June 4, 1963 - President Kenney signs Executive Order 11110 which allows our gov't to print debt-free "United States Note" to compete with the "Federal Reserve Note." Upon his assassination, the $4,292,893,825 of United States Notes are called out of circulation and destroyed.
The Federal Reserve Bank runs a monopoly on our monetary system. Federal Reserve Act of 1913 illegal. National Debt = our loan obligation to this private bank. Federal Income Tax = the interest paid on this loan.
i was looking at a dollar bill, thinking of how the federal reserve has made our currency almost worthless, so considered writing RON PAUL on all the money i have so it would actually be of some value
If this election becomes more about the economy-the voters will beg for Ron Paul to save our butts from the fed's flat money- once they understand whats at stake.Ron Paul is the only candidate able to explain the problems and give solutions. Our economy needs a DOCTOR !!-Dr.Ron Paul.
Great video. This stuff is so hard to explain to people. The key point is: don't abolish the fed, let it compete with commodity-moneys in the free market. If the free market likes the fed system enough that it can continue to exist, then great. But I wouldn't bet on it.
There has never been inflation or recesion under a gold standard..It can't happen and never has..read your history. The only time in history there was inflation before the Fed was the civil war..because we printed currency without backing it ..period.
There is no such thing as an Economy without recesions.
The key point is the monetary skim of artificially lowering interest rates and injecting more money into the system: TAXATION BY INFLATION.
"Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the confiscation of wealth. Gold stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard."
"Beware! My girl and myself sent our paperwork to The Board of Elections to change our party and promptly received our new registration cards. Commodities billionaire Jim Rogers (George Soro's former partner) also said Ron Paul was "The only one of the candidates that knew what was going on in the world"...or words to that effect. It was in a Ron Paul video somewhere. That'd be a great one to include.

why doesn't Forbes come out and endorse Ron Paul? C'mon Mr. Forbes - go against the grain and the elites, support the ONLY sensible choice, Ron Paul!

Neat video. So was Forbes supporting a gold backed currency at the end?
Sorry, a bit new to the whole monetary policy thing.

Monetary policy has always been very abstruse and obscure to me. It's nice to have someone put in terms that we mere mortals can understand.
