  • KC is lucky they never bashed his head in with a coconut.

  • One HUGE Fashion show. Dude in WHITE suit is tits.

  • From the days when pop musicians actually played live shows ! Awesome stuff . . .

  • Salut to the great Harry Casey and his wonderful musicians

  • Bueno, muy bueno!!!!

  • The originators of the Cupid shuffle :)

  • Looks like the band is happy with the speed LOL

  • The song's rushed, for certain. IMHO, the drummer controls the band and is responsible for setting, keeping, and /or adjusting the tempo... I've seen this occur many times, as I've been in enough bands to KNOW this can happen to the best of bands. The musicianship is unquestionalby good here, great stuff.

  • This is so 70's. Great decade!

  • back when music was fun!

  • Amazing!!! So cheerful and hypnotic! 70's rules

  • DAMN IT !!!! lol , I was 17 then...Remember it well... :) music was So much better then....70"s were cool 2... Wow, I went there....Im offically old....LOL

  • This is what I call happy music!

  • Lets Get down tonight (: !!!!

  • @hey42756 Oh yeah!!

  • There it is !!!!!!!!!! I've looked all over for Don's show with KC THank you

  • This brings back so many memories, that we could all go back in time

  • @didlebug040 Time machine, please!

  • @cheapcape you ain't never lied

  • I saw these guy's live in my hometown back when they were in there prime,Im not a big fan of dosco but K.C. kicked some ass that night,it has been three life time's ago, probably even on a different planet, this kind of music will make a 90 year old man smile and tap his toes, the reason i say this is because my grandfather was 103 and he loved Shake your booty. This music makes me feel 19 again.I love it,K.C. and the BEE Gee's were the kings of disco.

  • PHENEMONEAL!

  • man, I wish the image quality were better - so frustrating

  • This is music!!!!!!

  • Too bad the sound quality isnt better... the band was rollin!!!!!

  • KC is hott

  • The rhythm guitar is simply getting down...smoking!!!!!

  • ♥LOVE♥

  • K.C. looks like he is having a great time, good job!

  • This music can still get you grooving!

  • (8) do a little dance....(8)

  • I swear, all of the energy they have in this vid.,I don't have nearly that much in my lil pinky....on both hands, lol!!!

  • KC could both entertain and was a solid musician at the same time! Most of the time,it's one or the other.

  • wahoooooooooooo

  • So much goes on here that I didn't notice the extra-tight groove from 4:04 to 4:18. Finch's bass and the dance going along with it by the horns, K.C. and the backup singers. I saw a much earlier performance of this song in November 1975 and the live experience of this band was amazing! Truly. Everyone who's said that is point on! In 1975 this kind of performance was a total surprise. We knew the band only for this song on the radio. We didn't expect a party!! Bass-heavy/percussive!

  • I LOVE THIS BAND !!

    GOOD VIBES GREAT MOVE'S!!

  • this is true showmanship !!!!...amazing....assholes like lord lady gaga should take heed...yes this will be still fresh in 2075....will the likes of a lord lady gaga be there too NOT

  • Nothing like the 70's.

  • @plungerdrum yes, they completely sucked ass

  • ugh... I have to play this in my band....

  • FUCK YEAH. That's what I'm talkin' about!

  • Just fantastic...I wish I had been there...I have missed out on an experience which will never be repeated again...

  • DIOS MIO

  • SIMPLEMENTE EPICO

  • April 77, Great times

  • without words...XXX

  • kc was really coked up there,...great tune though

  • disco4ever loves this version of get down tonight.... especially the dance moves and awesome Richard Finch on the bass!! Appreciate the post for sure!

  • That ruling bass-player is Richard Finch, their producer-co-writer. Amazing!

  • Party Hardy.....out of sight ....

  • the bass player on this RULES

  • I was ten yrs. old at the time this was going on!! I remember it and I still love it!!! KC is a doll !!!

  • KC was so damn cute then! Always smiling.

  • Wow, dancing has come a looooong way since this video was made. I'm sure "White Bell Bottoms Heart Patch Guy" displayed the state of the art dance moves for the times. The "sliding, reverse directional, one leg quivering, mobile push back" (or failed hand stand for short) dance move is classic.

  • If the US could play soccer to this music we could win a world cup.

  • Go KC Go!!!

  • 6th grade memories......sigh!!

  • love old skool music 70-80s n im 13!

  • Harry Casey shines here on two counts: the production, and the musicianship. What a classic!

  • @LarryCosgrove i heard that boy can suck the chrome off a trailer hitch too. haha, just saying

  • be careful when driving to this song. You'll be going 85 mph before you know it.

  • @4:29 that is the HUSTLE yawl !!!!!!!

  • redfishradical, you don't have to wish. They play a full concert every summer after a Marlins game. Show is as good as this video. Sound system is excellent. And they let you go down onto the field. Come on to Miami!

  • My dad was 10 in 1977 just thought I'd share.

  • Good 'ol Don Kirschner's Rock Concert.

  • Does anyone know if this performance is on cd or something? This would sound awesome in the car!!!!

  • The best hornes/trombones/brass I ever heard!

  • Earth Wind and Fire

    Confunkshun

    The Barkays

    Lakeside

And many more LIVE bands from the 70s & 80s had great horn sections. Ain't NUTH'N like LIVE music!

  • Ohio Players, Brick, Pleasure, Dazz Band, Blackbyrds, Sun, T Connection, Brass Construction, Kool & The Gang, Mass Production, Slave

  • Chicago, War, Tower Of Power, Mandril, Blood Sweat & Tears...

Who else? The list gos on and on...

  • The JBs (James Browns back-up band) which went on to become Parlement / Funkedelic

  • @ranhill bullshitt!!! this not the JBs!!!

  • @bigreed43 Dude calm down, I NEVER said KC and the Sunshine Band were The JBs. If you go back a little further in the postings, you will see that myself and another poster were naming bands from the 70s and 80s that had great horn sections.

  • They are tight. T his is a really great version.

  • Everything about them is SO MIAMI! My uncle was married to Shotgun Johnson's sister, and I used to go with him to Criteria Studio's in the '70's to see them jam. They'd be on so much yay, sounding like a whole marching band... this is my shit.

  • No : they are better together : it was a concept ... And when do you can hear a so perfect "osmose" beetween guitar and bass ? It was a real moment of hapiness to watch a performance like this one

  • Who was the guitarist? Sounded a little Like Johnny Watson.

Gotta admit I was one of the "Disco Destruction" era rockers in 70s (But love EWF, War & other soul/funk groups saw them when Doug Henning did a great stage illusion for them!) But I LOVED this song! Secret guilty pleasure that would be cranked all the way up. Looking at this clip I imagine those were some kick-ass concerts KC & Co. put on, wish I'd have seen them now!

  • Correction. The little trumpet guy is James Weaver.

  • Brass is Charles Williams, trombone, Denvil Liptrot, sax, little guy on trumpet, Charles Weaver and the wild dancing trumpet is Ronnie Smith. Saw them in 1975. AWESOME LIVE show just like you see here. KC was ON IT and danced with his horn section!!! BEST LIVE SHOW I'VE SEEN TO DATE!

  • Wow, Moondog, so awesome that you posted this!!! Love it, love it!!!

  • Badass brass section. Does anybody know their names. They should get some credit. Especially the guy in white.
