  • birds of a feather was from 1961 and brown eyed girl was 1967. Joe South was a true original whose lyrics could pierce your heart (especially when you were a teenager). this music holds up throught the years and is still powerful.

  • hi= i think you were responding to my post...yes, the 45 rpm version seems like it will end (like yours), but then breaks into a loud, sitar sounding 'extra' ending...since i have his greatest hits on CD, i would have to look for the 45, but if i can find it i may be able to send you the MP3....as i dont know how to post songs

  • This was from the Amazon mp3 download. Post that version! iMovie or Windows Movie Maker work great to make it.

  • You are so right about being a true=blue follower of Joe South's music. At times, he sings as if he were giving a Sunday Morning sermon in Church!! He's always got a lesson to teach and they're great lessons I wish more folks would listen to and learn from them!!

  • @oldbeachman Hey oldbeach...Count me in my friend. I have followed Joe South for 40 years now and have never heard a song I didnt like by him. Great voice. This one is one of my favorites..But i really love "Greatest Love" and "Hush". So you are not alone in admiration of this great talent.
