what if i have a numark mixtrack, controller, and numark DJ I/O.

would this be worth picking up? would i still be able to use the mixtrack for mixing,cueing, etc, and use this X1 for effects and stuff? also, could i plug it in my dj/io or does it go directly into usb?

@RooneyPatrick I also have the mixtrack and am considering picking up an X1 when the new Traktor 2 gets released in April. X1 is a USB controller so it plugs directly into your computer. If you're also using I/O along with the Mixtrack you'll need three USB ports to use both controllers simultaneously. Hope this helps.

You do need an external mixer AND the audio interface ( Audio 2/4/8 DJ). Any version of Traktor will do if you have the X1 driver. I recoment Traktor Pro/Duo/Scratch. Only with the Duo and Scratch versions you can use external controlers like turntables/CD players.

The idea behind this stuff is not only to make it easier for DJs to use programs - but also to let the DJ constantly switch between devices to put on a "show". If i ever see a DJ just buried in a Laptop I'm likely to just leave. He should at least LOOK like he's doing work. It's as much about the performance on stage as it is the music. Get with the times, adob0, it's 2010 already.

Scorchin: Performance is just as important as sound. A DJ that looks like he's not doing work will be perceived as not doing work. Move back and forth from lappytop, decks, mixer, INTERACT with the crowd and your setup. Performance, performance, performance!

Adob0 - That's nice that Serato is the industry standard - maybe people want to be "different" and use other tech. It's personal preference. Some like vinyl - some like MP3 - despite DIGITAL being the "standard". I'm not complaining about a DJ with a laptop - read my post, genius - I'm talking about PERFORMANCE, Einstein. I actually remix live on stage using Mainstage (logic 9) and Ableton. I play keys live - I'm not a standard "blend n scratch" DJ. How is putting on a good show "delusional"? You complain about my reading comprehension but you STILL miss my point of "performance". Clubs I perform at have kicked out "lazy" DJ's because they are being put on the spot - the owners WANT interaction. Blame them for not letting you lazy folk file your nails while DJ'ing. I also never said that more tech makes anyone better or that playing songs and scratching sucked - I just said that I don't do that since i perform the music LIVE. @SUBTRaKTR once again, being "lazy" and using minimal equipment to do not correlate. there are sub par dj's who need the most up to date equipment who end up producing sub par performances. there are well respected djs who use the bare minimum equipment who are very well demanded and put on a great performance consistently. do you get it yet? you must either 1) work for traktor 2) need more equipment to compensate for the lack of skills you have in DJing. i have a feeling it might be both.

Hahahaha, no. I don't work for Native Instrtuments nor do I use Traktor, personally. My DJ skills r just fine - I'm just going by tips I've gotten from both Pro's in the industry (Bill, DP, Ok, Dyk, BJ, etc) and from club managers/promoters. The smallest show I've gig'd the past 2 years was only 1500 peeps. I'm all over the place and under a different name, sport. Performance is every bit as important as music. hi guys ! i have a problem whit my kontrol x1! i have the kontrol + omni control from numark. and when i'm doing the midi mapping for the kontrol. the buttons and the knobs scramble/ mix whit the omni control's mapping. for ex when i turn a knob for the loops the pitch changes and onther things like that; any ideeas? thanks :d

ok this controller is expensive, you could do pretty much the same (or even more) with a remote zero.

this one however has a much better build quality, comparable to the a&h 's

it seems they should still put everyting in one unit.How about a controller and sound card >have the controller look like a mixer and controll every last thing in Traktor up faders ,cross faders, gains,eq's. ..that means for four decks you would have to buy 4 seperate controllers,then you cant controll the eqs within traktor so you would have to control it on a real mixer,,sounds like too much too me,.. i know its what club djs do but i still am for a all in one unit
