  • finally finished this song :D it was pretty hard...but definitely worth all the practice it took

  • @killed10x i was saying that it creates pressure because then you feel like you have to live up to the standards of how primrose plays it

  • There is someone out there as great as Primrose- Carpenter!

  • we need a live great soloist , like primrose

  • omg i have to play this in my lesson, and my teacher was a student of this man, pressure muchhh?!

  • I'm playing this piece for my juries today thanks for bring the one person to have a recording I could find last minute!

  • i remember playing this concerto a couple of years ago... It's a better piece than I had thought. Thanks for uploading!

  • Actually I remember that he played the viola doing these concertos. I have the album somewhere.

  • Great interpretation by Primrose. Would love to have all Henri Casadesus's compositions. He also wrote the JC Bach Viola concerto as well as the Mozart Adelaide violin concerto. Pincus Zuckerman did a recording of viola concertos of JC Bach, Telemann, Handel and Karl Stamitz so there is another recording worth the listen.

  • i don't think Zukerman did record those. I think he might have done a violin recording of a real JC Bach and Handel concerto. I might be wrong of course but i think you are thinking of wolfram christ perhaps

  • I wish I was as good as he.

  • I am learning this movement. With practice I know it can sound this good.

  • i love primrose to!

    i wanna be he

  • too bad none of us ever will

  • i can try

  • Don't feel badly if you don't make it to this level. Almost none of the "greats" have in the last 50+ years including violinists, pianists, cellists and singers. But please try and especially listen to the tone. Throw away your shoulder rest, don't clamp with your neck, let the bow work, don't press, and, as my friend (a violist who has been compared as an equal to Primrose by a contemporary), says, "when playing something difficult, relax, when things are impossible, relax completely."

  • No violist today has made it to the level of Primrose, but there are many violinists/cellists today whose technique are formidably comparable to those of the past. Hilary Hahn's technique is second only to Heifetz, Yo-Yo Ma might have the greatest technique of any cellist ever recorded, etc.

  • A treat for my ears!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks! i really needed a record of that piece!

  • I love Primrose

    ;o;
