There is no way this would work on my heeler...if your dog gets very distressed about having their nails clipped, ask your vet about getting them sedated so they can be clipped without putting your dog through what was shown in the video. It looked as though she only let you cut her nails because she was exhausted from distress. Cattle dogs are a very intelligent and sensitive breed.

Heelers are highly intelligent. They can easily be conditioned to sit and offer a paw for nail clipping by their own volition if trained with positive reinforcement. What exactly teaches a dog to be more obedient; using training to show them how to happily comply with you or never telling them what you want so it is a prolonged battle of wills every time?
