they did it was a reimagination called g- saviour I belive and the robot design was weak looking not like a real gundam at least to what I have seen of it.

There's a such thing as "So fleshed out, it's unlike the real thing." Take that into consideration about the Monster Mk II and the various Zentradi Machines.

I modified the original look of the designs because Macross was entirely created by Big West/Studio Nue (who own the right to the designs and the new Macross TV series/OVAs). Robotech is an adaptation made by Harmony Gold who owns the rights to only the first Macross show internationally (from a deal with Tatsunoko Productions). If HG wants to avoid being sued by BW/Studio Nue when making the film, re-imagined designs is the way to go...

And Robotech was made legally using Copyrights for SDF Macross, with only the basic film editing, splicing, and dubbing. Similar to modern anime that come to the states. In fact, the storyline was almost identical, as well, until the Macross Saga ended. I'm not much for re-imaginations, and if that's really how R:LA is gonna be, I'm not gonna watch it. I just can't see that much change correspond at all with the Robotech story.

It has been confirmed by Harmony Gold itself that the ROBOTECH LIVE ACTION FILM will be a RE-IMAGINATION of the original TV show... Changes will be made to the original designs and the story... THIS IS OFFICIAL!!!

When doing a tech design drawing, use a finer pencil, like a clutch or mechanical pencil for more detail. Or maybe a fine pen.

Agree 100%, but then again Macross/Robotech fans are a tad more particular than transformers fans. There is plenty of room in trnasformers to play a little and get away with it. MAcross though, its a set storyline, set props, my big question would be do we get the SDF1 with aircraft carriers or the spaceships?
