I dont have MVc3. I saw how good it was and i think capcom did an amazing jog with UMvC3. I was not disappointed. Awesome characters, cool stages, Lacks a couple modes, But the game was rebalanced from the last time i played MVc3. Joe, you can suck my cock. I saw the trailer during release and MAN AM I PISSED! They lied to you AJ and they lied to us! The game is released and it is... WAIT FOR IT! 40 DOLLARS! The features still include ONLY: 12 new characters and 8 new stages (or should I say pretty backgrounds). The trailer did not mention new modes, free patches, a story mode, anything at all interesting, etc.

If I were to purchase only certain characters out of those available to download, an online matchup would favor the player who owns both the character i'm using and the character he/she bought alone. Even though I do not buy a certain DLC character, I may also be inclined to download his/her data for online to properly work. Unneeded HD space for some.

The only effective solution I can think of is if UMVC3 was a retail scale game that would eliminate manufacturing and shipping costs. This is still a pretty new distrbution system for the console market at least, so I can understand why Capcom wouldn't tread this ground for a new title.

I see people here implying that depth in a fighting game is how many single player modes there are. Please understand the depth of the game has more to do with the fighting mechanics than gimmicks like time attack and king of the hill. Those are extras. All that ANY fighting game really needs is arcade, versus, training, online and a tutorial/mission mode for teaching bnbs.
Ultimate added heroes and heralds mode, that should be more than enough to keep the casual fans who want 'depth' busy.

I tell you i really was displeased of news UMvC3. But after watching character trailers, fighting styles, and new modes, plus all my friends are getting it, I'll just have to get it. I'll eventually get this game but I can't really say when since other games are taking priority in November for me.

Heroes and Heralds mode looks fantastic, and the character cast is new and fresh, as well as a whole different look. It looks more like a comic book, which is what my idea was that they could do. Ghost Rider and Strider look really good, and it will take some time to break them open, but I have online for that.

Yup, UMvC3 is a massive rip off. I mean, each DLC character (in Australian currency) is $8.40, so 12 of them would be $100.80 which would be a much better option than an approximately $70/$80 new disc that also adds in new stages and modes, rebalances the game and adds in intro's and endings to Arcade Mode >_> Seriously, if you were going to buy the characters as DLC why would you not buy them this way if they're cheaper and you get other stuff too?

I dont have MVc3. I saw how good it was and i think capcom did an amazing jog with UMvC3. I was not disappointed. Awesome characters, cool stages, Lacks a couple modes, But the game was rebalanced from the last time i played MVc3. Joe, you can suck my cock. I saw the trailer during release and MAN AM I PISSED! They lied to you AJ and they lied to us! The game is released and it is... WAIT FOR IT! 40 DOLLARS! The features still include ONLY: 12 new characters and 8 new stages (or should I say pretty backgrounds). The trailer did not mention new modes, free patches, a story mode, anything at all interesting, etc.

@EvilRickQueenVita They even screwed those up. You don't need an old mvc3 save to unlock it; you automatically get Galactus mode by earning 30K PP. As for Heroes and Heralds, it was supposed to be released a week after the game came out, now noone knows when it's coming.

If I were to purchase only certain characters out of those available to download, an online matchup would favor the player who owns both the character i'm using and the character he/she bought alone. Even though I do not buy a certain DLC character, I may also be inclined to download his/her data for online to properly work. Unneeded HD space for some.

@goldragon362 Since you still haven't addressed the problem of spectator mode, let me ask you: What would you have done to circumvent the inability to put spectator mode into MVC3 as DLC? The only effective solution I can think of is if UMVC3 was a retail scale game that would eliminate manufacturing and shipping costs. This is still a pretty new distrbution system for the console market at least, so I can understand why Capcom wouldn't tread this ground for a new title.

Person B wants to buy all the DLC characters available in one purchase. Because of this, he/she gets a discount that would make buying $5 characters separately pointless.
Capcom designed UMVC3 in a way that Person A gets fucked, and Person B gets what he/she wanted.
It's unfair, so Capcom is def not on some humble shit. I still think you are off on some levels though.

I see people here implying that depth in a fighting game is how many single player modes there are. Please understand the depth of the game has more to do with the fighting mechanics than gimmicks like time attack and king of the hill. Those are extras. All that ANY fighting game really needs is arcade, versus, training, online and a tutorial/mission mode for teaching bnbs.
Ultimate added heroes and heralds mode, that should be more than enough to keep the casual fans who want 'depth' busy.

ugh...now UMVC3 has "preorder" costumes...depending on whether you order it from Amazon, Gamestop, or Bestbuy. I'll never have a complete game....

I tell you i really was displeased of news UMvC3. But after watching character trailers, fighting styles, and new modes, plus all my friends are getting it, I'll just have to get it. But i wont trade in MvC3 because its worthless now, and keep it as a lesson to never buy a capcom fighting game until a long while after. This will be my lesson for SxT.

@WingmanVWXYZ Agreed. People sometimes overlook the fact that they willingly purchased the first MvC3. I think what people are mad about is the fact that it's coming out so soon and also doing this while they've never done it with a crossover title before. But as someone who bought the first game, it's hard not to feel just a bit cheated.

We are all entitled to have our own opinions, but it's rare to see people do that nowadays, but you did, so apologies accepted. And KoFXIII looks amazing as well, it's nice to see the cast so fresh after KoFXII was a bomb....It seems they finally got it right, but I will get UMvC3 first. I was set on that.

@WingmanVWXYZ Me too, I like to be reasonable with others even if I don't always agree with them. I have to admit, despite my earlier criticisms, I like where the game is headed and Phoenix Wright works well with the rest of the game. I agree with you about KoFXII, after playing it, I realize why it was a much better decision to rent it instead of buying it. I'll eventually get this game but I can't really say when since other games are taking priority in November for me.

@Negativedemon98 Will do. I just might record some things off of my small tv. Still saving up for a normal HD one. But yeah, they are definetly putting a LOT more work in this game. Heroes and Heralds mode looks fantastic, and the character cast is new and fresh, as well as a whole different look. It looks more like a comic book, which is what my idea was that they could do. Ghost Rider and Strider look really good, and it will take some time to break them open, but I have online for that.

Heroes and Heralds mode does look amazing, I think it's a nod to Onslaught mode from the first MvC game. It does look a lot neater, the one minor gripe I have is with the new HUD. I do actually want to try out Strider, Ghost Rider and Hawkeye a lot actually. I gotta go for now, I guess I'll catch you some other time, yeah?

Seth Killian is one of the coolest and most bad ass guys inside the gaming community there is.
Im glad you didnt tear him apart, Joe. The dude really doesnt deserve it. Even though he works for the greedy capcom, he is on the American players side. He is constantly at SF and MVC3 tournaments and just hanging out with the players... hes a genuine great guy.
UMVC3 is going to have bad sales numbers outside the hardcore fighting game scene. Capcom wont do this again if the casuals dont buy

Yup, UMvC3 is a massive rip off. I mean, each DLC character (in Australian currency) is $8.40, so 12 of them would be $100.80 which would be a much better option than an approximately $70/$80 new disc that also adds in new stages and modes, rebalances the game and adds in intro's and endings to Arcade Mode >_> Seriously, if you were going to buy the characters as DLC why would you not buy them this way if they're cheaper and you get other stuff too?
