When I try to launch this exe through Source SDK using 2009 engine with Team Fortress it gives me an error saying that shaderapidx9.dll has an error module.

I've tried several solutions with no success suck as reinstalling, refreshing sdk content, deleting sourcesdk folder in steamapps and then reinstalling and googleing for the DLL file and solutions but it still won't work.

TL;DR

shaderapidx9.dll wont work. I cant launch Half life model viewer. Help me please

with a combination of VTFEdit and MSPaint/GIMP/any other awesome picture editor, you can do anything! i am currently working on a V_HAND reskin to a combine (female) assassin (cut enemy). i use the texture from romka's HL2DM fassassin model.

Half-Life 2 uses source 2006. And the only way to play it using Source 2007's new fire effects is to play through it on Garry's Mod, because it uses source 2007 and it is fully compatible with any source game.

Half-Life 2 deathmatch doesn't come with Source SDK because it's free. If you want to use Source SDK, you will have to buy a game that runs on the source engine.

First buy a game that uses source engine like, CSS, HL2 or TF2 and im sure it will work. Because hl2dm does not count as a complete source engine game. Unless you already have a source engine game, then i cant help you.

Done, now it works, I just had to start the game for the first time.

But the model rotates in such a stupid way, is there a way to set a top-view from the top? How do you open the human models ? It says Error loading model. The model has no vertices.

It took me a while to get used to the dumb way models rotate in SDK. And I'm not sure what to do about the errors. That only happens when I open a model that is using a pink checkerboard texture. If that happens with Human Textures, then you may have to reinstall the game or verify the game cache. I think that's all I can help with.

SourceSDK does NOT come free with your steam account. You must BUY Half Life 2 Death Match, or some other game made by valve for it to appear in the tools menu.

You cannot get mods from the free version of Half Life 2 Death Match, you must buy it, then download the SourceSDK to play mods. This includes Garry's Mod.
