So I first heard this song from a commercial then I recently watched a movie called "A Man Apart" with Vin Diesel and this was the song playing in the bar! 8)
Brought here by a commercial? No. Searched the song and had finger posed over the 'skip this ad in 5 seconds' button as always. My then grilfriend, now wife, bought me the band CD on the strength of this single. Big disappointment in the the rest of the songs, but this is still as good as ever.
Why has it taken a rubbish advert for a crappy phone for these guys to get some credit? Bloody hell! Been a fan for ages now and it is about time people discovered them!
My dad actually led me to this video. I think I've heard of them, like in reviews on websites and stuff. He led me to it from the Ketell One commercial. I thought it was cool too, but just assumed it was just commercial music, lol.
@LunarCtheAndroid It was funny. I heard the song on the phone ad like everyone else and it sounded sooo familiar but I'd never heard the song before. I'm not exposed to that much new music but the stuff I do hear usually kind of sucks, especially the "rock." It's cool to see a band that's heavily influenced by one of my favorite bands. You're right, I guess more of a positive thing. Nothing's really original and it's great to see them bringing the sound to today's generation. Good point
The core riffs to the song remind me a lot of "La Grange" from ZZ Top. Except they took the Southern Rock feel out of it and made it heavier and with more grit. Great song nonetheless though.
Check out the band "The Call" and the song "The walls came down. The lead singer is the father of BRMC's Bass player, Robert Been. The song was a hit back in 1983. It's a great tune. Anyway, I discovered that his father toured with them as their sound engineer and while on tour with them last year, he died of a heart attack while working backstage at a Belgian Music Festival. He was 60 years old. My deepest sympathy to his family and I wish them peace of heart, mind and soul.
The music sounds like it stepped right out of the '60's or '70's. Great fucking bass line. The tune is repetitive as hell but it's a good sounding repetition. As for the lyrics, they are pretty much nonexistent. I think there are only 30 words in the entire song. Again, repetitive. But the music pretty cool so they can slide on the lyrics. The vocals are great when there are some.
@ghostfaced1 Wait... I thought the definition of a hipster was someone who was a fan of something BEFORE it became popular. So... wouldn't that make YOU the dirty hipster? :D
My body couldn't hold still after watching that commercial. Most of the commercials sux in the US but this one got me to watch the whole thing. I'm so digg'n this tune...damn hott.
@imjustmne Oasis...easily one of the most overrated bands ever. That Gallagher douche comparing his band to the Beatles. He must have trouble walking with balls that big.
