  • かっこいい

  • is that the same singer of the band ogre you asshole ?

  • NO, but they are friends. This is the band line up of lostage.

    Bass /vocals Takahisa Gomi

    Guitar Masaya Shimizu

    Guitar Takuto Gomi (brothers)

Drums Tomokazu Iwaki (old name was Tanaka)

  • ah ok i thought so because these both vocalist sounds very similar .

  • @ayabiecal I was just thinking about the same thing :D

  • I've lived in Japan 5 years and this is the first decent band I have come across, and there not popular here.

  • do you know eastern youth? i feel the same way about them - i think they're the best japanese band i've come across.

  • I don't know them but I shall look them up. Thanks.

  • It's hard to get big in Japan if you're not Visual-kei or not in an anime opening ro ending.

  • That's not true. Visual kei is very, very unpopular and underground in Japan. Maybe even less popular then bands like this one in the video.

It's hard to get big in Japan if you aren't pop or a Western band.

  • If that's true, why are people like miyavi so famous? Bands like Girugamesh that have no talent are famous BECAUSE they're visual kei.

  • Miyavi is barely well-known in Japan. Yes, Girugamesh is untalented, but they are not famous either. They may have cult following over there, but they are not "huge." They SEEM that way b/c many people in the West like them -this is all thanks to X-Japan's Yoshiki's promotion. Plus they WANT to get promoted. Bands like lostage either don't have big guys like Yoshiki behind them, or they just don't want to be "above ground". If you want to get big in Japan, you have to be like B'Z or Loudness

  • I suppose, but I have a handful of Japanese magazines and it seems like visual kei acts are the rage.

One thing I'm sure of is indie groups aren't famous but have a niche. Groups like jenny on the planet aren't famous anywhere else but their niches. I can assume the same is for visual kei.

  • Well I'm just going by the fact that Japanese visual kei bands are not well-liked by Japanese people, don't get amazing sales whatsoever, and not very often do artists like Miyavi or Girugamesh have music that tops any charts. I've have never heard of them ever being "the rage" in Japan -although most are going major nowadays so that could be a reason why they are getting exposure in mainstream mags.

Yes, they have a small niche and mostly it is for the fashion, not the music.

  • Seriously, the only VK acts I can think of that are even remotely mainstream as of the present are L'arc en Ciel and Gackt. And not so much for his music, but Gackt goes on many national talk shows, he's in movies and dramas, etc.

  • Adding onto what Milkchan7 said, L'arc and Gackt are much poppier than all the other V-Kei bands anyway.

But then it is definitely true that the fans of V-Kei, Anime Songs and well no offense but "otaku-ish stuff" are increasing numbers.

Why did this argument happen on this particular song anyway :]

  • @aaarrrggghhhh Check out "Asian kung fu generation" they rock!!!

  • かっけー

  • I was friends with these guys for like a minute, then I couldnt go to their show and I got cut off.

  • wow, this band rocks.
