I couldn't spot a single shooter aiming properly! It's OK for the bad guys to spray bullets but a professional soldier doing it...

Holding the FAL from the mag....I think it says everything about the shooter.

I speak from experience, the FAL has been my service rifle for more than 10 years.

Holding a FAL by the magazine to shoot it is not proper technique, and does not facilitate good shooting. I know what I am talking about.

In any case, what you see is a police force that has no need to worry about ammunition expenditure as they are perfectly content with winning the gun battle by sheer volume of gunfire - the philosophy of "eventually we will hit somebody".

plus isnt a poor technique when using a FAL or others weapons that dont offer a confortable position to shot.

I'm sure you're more experienced with weapons than I am, but I have had the privilege of firing several different flavors of AK-47, AR-15's/M16-'s, and a couple M1 carbines. And I found I was quite accurate holding the weapon under the barrel and not by the mag. I also don't recall, in all the footage I've seen of US combat troops, seeing those soldiers firing a weapon while holding onto the magazine. Though we don't use the FAL and I've never been lucky enough to fire one.

To tell you the truth, its more a particular point, you shoot the way its confortable to you, but in the FAL case, its better hang on the Mag, Since its not curved, speccially if u got a buckle you can control the Recoil in a easier way, Holding the Barrel is ok too, but recommend to ppl with Bigger and Strong arms.
