  • sucks lol metal is the best music

  • :')

  • I remember singing this.....I was the only T2 LOL so I had to sing really loud when the tenor part splits

  • I love this song! Sooo beautiful. Great job!

  • I'm guest conducting this with my college choir on Saturday. Love this piece, and Ole Miss does it very well. Curious-- was the raise in key due to loss of energy in certain places? I know that's something I've had difficulty with. This is particularly true of the soprano divisi (e.g. "soon will be my bride"). Our choir has a lot of really large voices in it also, which has proven quite an obstacle to overcome in the blend department.

  • Is this a whole-step high?

  • @DonnBradley yeah, i noticed too.

  • Doing this with my mixed for festival this spring. My chamber singers won the chamber/madrigal division at this fall's ole miss choral festival. Very nice. Haven't really heard Ole Miss singers since Jerry left. Lots lighter sound now!

  • beautiful, guys!!!!!

  • one of the madrigal groups at my school is doing this piece, and it's one of my favorites, it's so beautiful..

  • very beautiful !

  • Singing this song for my winter concert at my high school. Only practiced it twice so far but been loving every moment of it. Cherry Hill West REPRESENT! :D

  • I really like the expression and flow.

  • We sang this in high school. Previous to this song, we had been using John Denver's "My Sweet Lady" to sing to the homecoming queen. Once we used Flower of Beauty, a new tradition was started. One of my favorite songs.

  • Performed this in the early 80's at Nicholls State. Strong basses will really make this song. Hear the tenors are very strong, and the basses not so much. The words are voluptuous and rich with passion and love.

  • We are singing this in our chorale!!

It is a beautiful piece, with very beautiful words...

A very beautiful portrayal of love..

    ♥

  • Hey, buddy, thanks for conducting these great musicians so well. This song was performed superbly.

  • This does sound nice, but one question that is plaging me: Why isn't this in E Flat?

  • @hawkinman18

Maybe because the e flat for the bass 2's was a little too low?

    Im not sure.

  • I remember singing this song when I was a junior in high school....Virginia Music Educators Association, District XV Chorus, under the direction of the awesome Deen E. Entsminger! Virginia rocks out baby!

  • you know I love it.

  • beautiful i would love your comment for my video

  • sounds good :) though at times i can only hear the tenors and sopranos. BTW does this choir have a countertenor in it?

  • well, yes and no. i was studying countertenor at the time but i was not singing countertenor in this ensemble. nor was i singing in this recording since i was conducting.

  • gotcha well goodluck in your counter tenor endeavors its tough training
