@theberrysband Yes, it's true. American bombers, thinking they were over Germany, did accidentally destroy much of Nijmegen and killed 750 people in the process. It might be called "Collateral damage" these days.
It's not something that people dwell on any more than they dwell on what the ancestors of today's Germans did to the Dutch. We're all neighbours now.
