@lakerkrazy Actually, that's WHY she got the role ^^ Have you seen the movie? The character gets into this ballet school, but she's said all the time that she needs to work on her turn out, and other stuff. Then, the blonde guy who is... kinda famous makes this choreografy and makes her the principal dancer because of her passion. It's a film, not a real ballet, have that into account. Anyway, I think .... Amanda Schull's a full-time member of SFB's corps de ballet.

@lakerkrazy The girl isn't fat at all. Look at her fit arms and legs and collar bones. She doesn't have any rolls in the midsection either. She is proportioned differently than most dancers, but pretty. Many dancers look anorexic, she has a normal attractive weight and isn't very tall so doesn't look slender. She's in much better shape than most young girls today. Models and dancers give an unrealistic view of weight, which girls like, but guys do not. Are you a professional dancer, or critic?

@bocaknights sure she's not fat for a normal person, but for a dancer, she is a plumper. there is a reason she's only core and not a principle. go look a Gelsey Kirkland and tell me Amanda Schull looks ANYTHING like Gelsey. stop kidding yourselves. curves don't make for pretty ballet. Julie Kent has a much better dancer's body and it makes her scenes much more visually appealing. and i am a casting agent, not a critic. take my advice or leave it, but don't kid anyone.

@lakerkrazy I'm not kidding anyone. This girl isn't as good a dancer as those that you mentioned. I was merely commenting on the fact that ballet and the modeling industry make extremely skinny seem like the ideal, when it is not. It is disgusting to look at bones showing through in a woman's chest and gaunt faces that look like they are starved. Dancing skeletons are not attractive. There is a difference between being fit and forcing your body to fit into a size it wasn't meant for.

@bocaknights1 you should understand, most models were made tall and thin, that is why they became models. quite a few of my friends have been model scouted, and they are all tall and guant looking, and have always been - that's just how their bodies are. there are people who are just very thin, and have bones showing through their chests and there is nothing wrong with that.

@95671 i know same! don't worry just keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it. pointe class is so fun!! sometimes my friends and i will mess around a little and pretend that we're doing what they're doing at 1:25 it's really fun. i'm working really hard and trying to get my feet even stronger so i can do more of this dance :)
