How do you know what goes on up in heaven? 144000. How did that get started? Hard to imagine the first to think they were one and announced it. Bible does talk of giving yourself titles. Just what does the bible say of the 144000? Someone who lives life as a JW, but doesn't believe in JW. I don't see how god can destroy them.

I was brought up in this shit. My mother was abused by an Anglican cleric when I was 5. It screwed up my parents marriage. My mother had a nervous breakdown. During this time JWs made contact. Our family went with this crap for 15 years. I broke free of the JWs in 1981. I then got involved in Charismatic Christianity (out of the fryingpan into the fire!)

@CatskillMountainView depressing indeed in more way than one. jw's statistically suffer more mental illness than you could ever imagine. ask them personally without attacking them and they'll admit they are psychiatric drugs more often than not. the level of cognitive dissonance is very high in speeches like this. it's a very sad ordeal and often as you will notice speeches that influence change are often at the end of a very tired weakend.

I had a dream last night. In a land with 5 million people, JWs preached so hard that everyone became JWs including the government but then they didnt know how to control the population. It was a big mess since they couldnt use their man-made legislation anymore. There was cases of some sick pedophile elders, and people didnt know what to do with them.Old men in GOVERNING BODY was confused. Apostacy started rising!!!!!

I can't argue with you on that one.
I think that comes from the belief they've had for a hundred years that the end is any second now so that there isn't time develop any depth in a subject.
The converts tend to be people not very connected to whatever faith they used to be in, or total novices to religion so that this is the only orientation they ever knew.
But that is true of most converts to evangelical christianity. They reached the end of their rope in their lives and cry GOD.

Hypnosis and hyp states are actually a natural phenom, and he isnt necessarily aware of it. He's just in the 'state' his mentor was in, and so on. From a deep emotional level the mind is trained to stay in a partic groove and it's only some kind of shock that gets a person out of it.

They talked about 9 steps leading to Baptism. I found it interesting that repentance was number 5 on the list (?) Never heard that one before.

You really shouldn't be self-assuming, looking for changes. It's really just not a fair and just thing to do! You show a copy of a 'draft' then you try to say they are bad if they change some things.
