  • Man that is some Afro you got going on there dude...no wonder you can hit them low notes!!! Shamonnn!!!

  • you are a fucking g

  • i creased for 20 minutes after watching this

  • ...and woah, the video and audio sync is way off lol.

  • even though I've heard of the Tubax for quite a while, I still must say, that's not right to be able to go that low, it has to be illegal to dig that deep in the note range! :-P

  • isnt the tubax basicaly the sub-contrabass?

  • Yup ^^

  • Im going to stick to Alto and Tenor for now...

that thing must weight a ton.

  • LOL XD

  • Yeah!!!

  • awful

  • that little boy is really good at the tuba

  • You mean, tubax. A Tuba and a tubax are very much different instruments....

  • I do believe that the bari is one octave below the alto, the Eb tubax one below the bari, and the tenor between alto and bari and the bass one octave below that. I might be wrong, thats just how it has seemed to me. But the tubax (I prefer Eb because I play alto and bari) ROCKS!

  • it goes

    Eb- Sopranino sax

    Bb- Soprano sax

Eb- Alto sax- I play this one

Bb- Tenor Sax- I play this one

Eb- Bari sax- I mostly play this one though.

    Bb- Bass sax

    Eb- Contrabass sax

    BBb- Subcontrabass sax

  • but i dont really think that the subcontra was ever played or made or whatever?

  • visit eppelsheim(.)com and find the Bb tubax. thats it.

the proof is in the pudding, and the pudding is subcontra.

  • There's the Soprillo too, one octave above the soprano.

  • you forgot one instrument...over the Eb sopranino now there's a new entry...Yeah, the " Bb Soprillo Saxophone" that play 1 octave above Bb soprano...

  • Yep.

  • i want one

  • legal

  • wonderful

  • there are two different tubax instruments one is the Eb contrabass and the other is the Bb subcontrabass which is an octive under the bass sax

  • yep, you're right.

  • btw, the sax on the video is a sub-contrabass tubax, pitched in Bb, two octaves below a tenor sax.

  • You're right. If I'm right, a tubax (or contrabass sax) costs somewhere around +10-15 000$, and they're pitched two octaves below alto sax...

  • erm...a Tubax is a whole different instrument than a Contrabass. The Contrabass Saxophone is the lowest of the low.

  • I know, but isn't the Bb Tubax pitched lower than the Eb Contrabass? (Yes, I know that the two are completely different...)

  • The tubax is the lowest and is sometimes referd to as the sub contrabass. Although becouse the bore is a little too small some don't consider it a sax.

  • Oh wow.

That thing is HUGE. I want one! Then again, maybe I'll try to get better on alto first.
