i must egmit i dont like starcraft, and im a strategi player. units dosent have any special streght over for other units. meaning that if you know a extremly good tactic then its unlickly you going to lose, even though he buy the "right" unit.

this game isent a strategi game. the only thing it has to offer is interface, the grafics arent better than what they where for other strategi games 6 !! years ago.

my favorit game (aoe 3) is having better grafics than this game even though its 6 years old.

some might be impressed of the interface thinking its a good grafic. but it is just a wast of time to have made it. they should have used more time making the standart grafics like blood effects and what i see as plastic effects. than on videos and interface whitch only are sweeties.

i refer to that its made up on the way it is. units fx. blow up after being shot at whit 10 rounds. in the "real" world a guy whouldent blow up to a shower of blod cause he where hit whit a couple of ak rounds. so if i got you to think it was about pixel then i give you right its good enough there.

i think that the real problem is units and buldings animations.

@jonasnee Being in bronze isn't considered good in any standards. It's equal to playing vs a very very VERY easy AI opponent.

And my point with the tournaments is that it's so advanced that you can actually play it at such high levels, that was my point. And the so called strategy you describe your brother using is called "Cheesing" it's a let's say, newbie strategy that will only defeat other bronze or low level silver opponents. Please do try to watch some professional games :)

1) ZERG RUSH. All Zerg players know that by spamming minerals and gases on units and overrunning other races in less then 7 minutes will help you out. Taking longer than that will be torture.

2) Protos Shields. Protos lasts longer on the field, though their overall unit power is lowered.

3) Terrain OP machinery. They have better abilities and armor than almost any other units.

So it's basically how to use them :D I love Protos

This game is absolutely not worth waiting 10 years and paying for. RTS titles more detailed with better stories and greater mechanics were flooding store shelves 5 years ago and almost any respectable rts junky will choose Dawn of War over starcraft 2. Anyone considering a purchase should definitely hold off on this one and browse some less popular titles for something far more interesting..

Ahh you kinda should feel a little Warhammer 40K playing this game seeing how it is almost a complete copy of the 40K universe. Zerg=Tyranids, Marines & other human units=Imperium of Man, Protos=Eldar; hell all they are missing is a cloned version of the Chaos Space Marines,Tau,Necrons,the other factions withing the Imperium of man like the Sisters of battle, Imperial Guardsmen,etc..., The Dark Eldar, whoops sorry they do have Dark Eldar=Dark Protos, & finally the Greenskins aka the Orkz.

I torrented Starcraft 2 when it first came out...I could play it with about 14fps, i got through maybe 5 missions, i liked it.
