It's sometimes difficult to have sympathy with people who contract viruses like this. Most of the time it's from the user's ignorance of how the net works, clicking on any random e-mail attachment or even browsing porn indiscriminately on virus riddled sites all the while running an OS with little to no protection that isn't set to auto update and never downloading the updates to their OS in general.
Obviously this isn't every case but criminals make money on people who fail to use common sense
@DragonNexus Good comment. A good virus protection software and regular OS updates should give good protection and NEVER open strange e-mails with attachments.
I guess those hackers must be one of the happyest people on earth. I'd take the 9 million punds, and buy a bungallow in Thailand asp.

Virus protection is never enough. Viruses can easily bypass AV.
