Not sure what you mean. If you mean smooth panning motion, this was filmed handheld. If you mean smooth like in high fps, this is 25p so it's not more than 25 fps.. so in that way it isn't smoother than other videos.
Well, depth of field is the most obvious thing that makes this video look the way it does. I added that in After Effects using a mask and the "lens blur" effect. Then I increased the contrast a bit in Sony Vegas, and played a bit with the colors using the "color corrector". Last thing I did was to give the video some letterboxing.. (those black borders). That's about all I did. Good luck! :)

I used the canon HV30.. It's discontinued but I think they still sell the HV40.. it's almost exactly the same as HV30

After countless tries I still cant achieve this effect. I know contrast is involve. Can you just tell everything involved. I dont need a tutorial.
