I activated my 2 droids last night. Can't put it down. I've only owned 3 cells in the past 8 years last 3 were with a Razr. Quite the tech jump for me but I am tech savvy and I'm so amazed at this phone. I'm also glad I don't have to compare it to an iPhone. As I'm sure being able to run multiple apps alone sets it far above. Heck the google navigation system makes this worth it just for the navigation! You can even get a mount for the car to view it while driving. <3 the Droid

Have any of you actually tried the Droid for yourself? I went to vzw today and the sales rep let me try it a bit in the store. I'm completely sold! I've messed around with the SDK, and I'm ready for this phone already! All the pictures really don't help unless you see it yourself! The screen is so darn crisp, it's DPI is even sharper than my HD monitor! Web browsing was fast! I was impressed with the calendar system. (Which I'm most interested in for syncing my work and personal gmail.)

Great features, but this phone won't beat the iPhone. It's too late... People enjoy the seamless integration with iTunes.

I hate the seamless integration with iTunes and wish they'd have allowed me to use the hard drive externally on Songbird, in fact I would go as far as saying I would rather have one of these just because iTunes for windows is such a bad piece of software for music.

Thank god. Im leaving my iPhone. I love it, but the service is ridiculous. I get 3G nowhere, and on Verizon i'm almost never without 3G. This phone is awesome. Widgets, multitasking, 5mpx, physical keyboard, bigger screen, and its NOT on AT&T.

I will wait to see if it ACTUALLY does multi-tasking, or if it's the same as the other Android platforms. So far, only the Palm Pre has been successful at truly multi-tasking, i.e. calling out turn-by-turn directions, while listening to Pandora, and then taking a phone call. All seemlessly!

Tthe android platform seems somewhat sluggish and "technical". Not bad if you're a techie, but the iPhone and Pre do a much better job of keeping every day tasks at your fingertips!

Time will tell!

WOW they did a very good job with this phone, idk if it is enough to kill the iphone but i know now that apple has to have a big change coming. The phone reminds me a lot of the palm pre and iphone combined, I love how u can have multiple apps open at the same time (i wish the iphone could do that ) and the widgets. Im sure the iphone with do all of those things soon enough but i bet they will step up their game next year.

I have a few friends that got an iphone simply becuz it was the 'it' phone. ALL of them disliked it in some way and hated the service. The iphone user interface is pretty simple, which is why ppl flock to it, but this phone is for an advance user, and is superior to the iphone in every way, but let the kids play with their iphone and the real techies will do what's smart in the smartphone business. Get the Droid.
