Zeon was heavily ounumbered, out gunned, and working with minimal resources. And yet they still made the universe tremble and shudder at their resolve. Zeon shall never die as long as the desire for freedom burns in the heart of Spacenoids. Sieg Zeon!
I like how they did this. it was in a way at the same time not set on one person but the war it self. this may sound weird but it feels like I am their fighting on how well they did it.
Zeon was able to fight the federation with only 1/30 of the force the federation had, the final battle was no fight at all Char, Johnny, Gato were the only true pilots left to fight
What's with all the sympathy for Zeon? It was Zeon who initiate the war against earth - anything Federation do afterwards is justified to terminate the Zeon threat.
Mind you, Delaz / Char / Hamma never did make peace.
@sighsgkj they never made peace cause they never succeeded. Zeon started the war to catalyze human revolution to becoming newtypes. Also, they started a war to save the Earth from being depleted of natural resources, overpopulation, and famine. the earth is the thing preventing humans exceeding their capabilities, becoming a newtype (in the Gundamuniverse anyways), so wouldn't this greater good be enough to justify it? they are saving Earth/animals from extinction.
So the Zeon wants to save humanity by wiping it out? LOL
The original by Char's father was only for Zeon's own independence, the ideal hijacked by the wayward ambitions of the Zabi's. One-year war and subsequent neo-zeon campaigns caused more depletion than anything else - You need to review Unicorn episode 1.
Besides, why attack other space colonies if they're already on the path of evolution - resulting in Federation aces like Amuro and Shiro in the process.
a colony drop forces ppl to migrate to space, not wipe them out. sure, theres casualties, but in the long run its for the greater good. I didn't deny anything that you said about Char's father. everyone noes that Zabi is the real enemy. Neo-zeon however, was for evolution. Amuro was colony based (how else would he hav become newtype). He is living proof that migration into space is the way for becoming a newtype, the next step of evolution. Shiro is nothing. an ace. not NT.
Humanity itself wasn't ready to make space migration. They even had abandoned colonies like where Amura ended the Gyan. If Zeon really wants to help with moving to space they should proliferate technology so regular folks have a easier time going to space. Heck the Jupitris fleet did more good then Zeon for space exploration.
@sighsgkj Though I don't intend to start a fight, if Zeon didn't strike first, then the Federation's overwhelming armada might have destroyed the civilian colonies on Zeon; thus the Federation would established supremacy over all the colonies earlier.
@sighsgkj The Federation was heavily armed to the teeth; otherwise theyhad three massive fleets on stand-by to invade Zeon until further notice. Not to mention those armadas were equipped with nuclear armaments set to be used against Zeon colonies. So it was a surgical strike that allowed the Space Attack Force to even the odds against the EFSF. Though 3 billion civilians were killed during the One Week Battle, the slaughter was unavoidable due to desperation of skill vs power.
@sommer98 Yes really. Even the US who produced over 100,000 tanks, 240,000 planes and 2,200,000 transport vechicles. Soviet Union population at the time was 200 million, US was 120 million, UK was 40 million. Japan population was 60 million as was Germany's.
As sad as this is to see, this was the Principalities' price for abandoning the teachings of the late Zeon Deikun. This is their punishment for following the Zabi's straight to Hell.
@Karlwootwoot No, the zabi's well gihren at least had the proper idea of how to run zeon. Deikun from what little is known of him seemed a weak and feeble leader, the Principality did not need that. They would have never broken free from the currupt hold of the earth federation like that, No the zabi's were a needed evil.
@akatsukifanboy102 Well of all the zabi's dozel was the best (moraly at least) he wasnt a coward he would fight on the front lines with those he commanded.
@sommer98 Gihren was literally on the battlefield, He may not have been engaged in combat but i do not think him a coward when he could have ran the battle from hundreds of light years away just as easily.
@akatsukifanboy102 well from what ive read of Deikun he was willing to play the waiting game with the federation(only resorting to war as a last resort) He did sanction the creation of a national guard wich were the building blocks of what would become the zeon's military. If deikun had lived the gasing of colonies with G-3 would have never happend.
@sommer98 No? The federation would still have played dirty, they still would have used nuclear weapons, the colonies would still be destoryed back and forth by both sides. No, the one year war would still have happened sooner or later, and most likely zeon would still have lost and it would have just been Deikun in front of a firing squad not adrimals and generals. I personally respect the zeon that so many fought and died to defend, The spacenoind dream is that of Gihren Zabi. SIEG ZEON!
@akatsukifanboy102 I think zeon will be reborn in some form because of what is laplace's box. Spoiler it is the original federation charter for space colonies granting them the right to govern themselvers, but the president fo the federation at the time was asasinated.
@sommer98 If zeon returns if does not return hardly matters, by the time unicorn happens the galaxy is just tired of zeon. Gihren and Delaz have been dead for so long by that point would it even share the same vision? No, if it came back it would be a another axis, that is not zeon. No, Zeon for me ended in 0083 after operation stardust, that was their final offensive push, their final death blow to the federation.
@akatsukifanboy102 Deikun, Casval, and Artesia are the true heirs of zeon. The Zabi's took Char's father's dream of a free people not bound to the federation and twisted it. You have to remember that Zeon went destroyed most of the sides early on in the war. The Federation didn't, in fact it's not until some time after gundam F-91 that side 3 permanently rejoins the federation
@Jadefox32 True it does but by that point the ideals of a True Independent Zeon are so long forgotten i can not truely blame them. Deikun was a moron in my opinion, Truely did he not grasp the scope of the federation's evil and curruption? From all inklings he was a relatively smart and wise man so in truth i can not possibly understand why he would not support a war for freedom for all spacenoids. which even back in his day were being opressed. The zabi's were the heirs of zeon in my opinion
@Jadefox32 The freedom of the many can only be won from blood and the sword after all so i view the zeon war for freedom a bit diffrently from some i guess. But to me the zabi family at least Gihren held the ideals of his people deeply to heart and cared imensely for them. He himself was directing the battle at A Boa Qu right at the front line of it mostly. In the end that resulted in his traitor sister executing him but truely I think Zeon or rather Gihren's zeon held the chance for unity
@akatsukifanboy102 But how many of your own must be sacrificed for that ideal, Gihren emptied out an entier colony for his Solar Ray, he gassed the colonies of side 1 and side 5 all to use one of the empty colonies in Operation British. At least Casval made an attempt to appeal to the hearts and minds of the leaders of the Federation during his address at Dakar. For his attempt he was rewarded by the federation renouncing the Titans, which was a step in the right direction.
@Jadefox32 I don't view that as much more then the federation getting rid of the more vocal opponents of the zeon remmants and then trying to buy him off with axis. it ended as well as it could i suppose but char in my opinion was nothing more then a traitor to his uniform, all the men who died in that war on the side of spacenoid freedom are tarnished by his mere existance. it was due to his selfish ambition that much of the war was ruined and lost, Still Zeon is still alive and still strong.
@akatsukifanboy102 actually the Titans themselves tried to get Axis on their side in the war against the A.E.U.G. Zeon came back as Neo Zeon and Casval came back far more aggresively in his attempt to flatten the federation by dropping Luna II and the attempt to drop Axis on Earth. The Zabi's war led to the essential puppet government put in place by the federation and renamed the "Republic of Zeon" and was what led in the 0130's to side three coming back into the federation.
@Jadefox32 What led to the reformation to the "republic of zeon" was a string of solid defeats and puppet officals. @Jadefox32 Agreed it goes beyond just a flag or people it is just a simple ideal. Some one across a ocean or in this case space should have no right to tell you what to do in your own country or in this case space station. I truely hope that zeon can some how get a serious victory in a upcoming series such as Unicorn that would just make my day.
*sarcasm* I just Love how the freaking feds magicly builld all those ships and GMS outta now where, when originally Zeon was annihilating them, stupied "good guy" "bad guy" rule, Sieg Zeon!
@FiveOhFirstKnight It's hardly magic. The Feddies were getting their ass handed to them because they basically sent their forces into hiding and only poked their heads out of their holes enough to keep Zeon from bringing the war to their doorstep. Meanwhile their R&D division was rebuilding everything they lost at Loum. Think about it: Loum happened in January. A Baoa Qu happened in December. That's a long time to rebuild. It's not surprising that there were enough machines to overwhelm Zeon.
@GreatWagersOfAnime True, Ture but i dislike the fact the zeon dream of freedom and a end to the curruption of The federation died there. Along with alot of the greatest pilots on both sides, i admit i support zeon, i supported them back when i watched the original gundam all those years ago and i respect and support them here. A Boa Qu may have been a death blow but zeon as well know was stubborn it did not die silently nor completely. But i do believe the dream of a zeon empire is gone now.
hmm i wonder, what if there had been some jormungands at A Boa Qu on the defence, i mean with actual intel they could have started destroying the feddy fleet before they got in range, adn even with missed shots, if missil a salamis was enough to F it up that much at luom, what would that do to a GM or ball? And what if it had been improved on too?
If Degwin didn't try to sue for peace with Reval, then Lord Gihren would have let the Feddies take A Baoa Qu and used the solar ray not only to wipe out the EFSF, but incinerate A Baoa Qu along with the space fortress' defenders with it! I'm not sure if this is a good strategy or a diabolical and despicable plan. Either way, it would bring Zeon victory at the cost of crippling the Zeon army, but leaving Earth open to nuclear attack but would leave the status quo the same as it was before...
So many Zeon martyred in the pursuit of principle and a just future in the face of unyielding tyranny. May their courage and sacrifice forever inspire fans to live with consciousness and idealism.
@edwardsqbp Nah, it's great that the Feddies won. Granted, it probably would have made for a more interesting timeline with the internescent fighting that a Zeon win would have resulted in, with all of the various factions constantly trying to prove themselves superior.
@edwardsqbp I would have to agree. Though their defeat was similar to the german defeat durring ww2. In that their problems with their tanks and aircraft mirrored zeon problems.
Chaotic production (too many sub varriants/designs.)
@edwardsqbp feddies won by number not buy it mobile suilt..zeon mobile suilt more advance just sad that they produce too many zaku that time..is more Rick dom..feddies sure get rape hahaha
Nah.....at the rate they add gundams in every side story, they'd end up with more Gundams that Gelgoogs at ABAQ. Though that would explaining the Feddie victory after half their fleet got wiped by the solar beam along with General Revil.
I want the name of this song

@Devillin This is a great video and series though! I love the depiction of Abaowaku is such a dynamic way.

@edwardsqbp I would have to agree. Though their defeat was similar to the german defeat durring ww2. In that their problems with their tanks and aircraft mirrored zeon problems.
Chaotic production (too many sub varriants/designs.)
Over enginered/complex designs
Lack of experianced pilots

Nah.....at the rate they add gundams in every side story, they'd end up with more Gundams that Gelgoogs at ABAQ. Though that would explaining the Feddie victory after half their fleet got wiped by the solar beam along with General Revil.
