I'd like to point out to a lot of people that these are NOT permenant, that they are often taken out after the initial event. The back is shallow and has a high rejection rate, so keeping piercings in full time would be pretty much impossible.

well, its all a matter of how you get the piercings pierced. if you go trough it all in once, like all the piercings in one day, the chance that your body might reject them is high, but if you get them pierced over a longer period of time, it might be better and you should be able to keep them completly in. my girlfriend had a corset for over 2 years, always in, but sometimes cleaned and changed the strap and stuff, untill she was giving birth of our daughter...

Permanent piercings are pretty much piercings that heal faster then it takes to push out.
