size is overrated because what really counts is the lowest man wins and with determination as well. Also jsut because a guy is bigger doesn't make him stronger. I use to play guard and i'm only 5'10 and every defensive tackle that came my way was 6'2 and up and I held my ground.
@natephishy If you can grow an inch or two and add alot more somewhat healthy weight with as much muscle as you can
you will have a sufficient build to be able to play interior OL at a high level. D1 scouts generally don't even look at linemen under 6'2. Weight doesn't matter that much as long as you are 260+. D1 Colleges generally work on building linemens weight up their freshmen year to about 290+ with a good weight & fitness program (Unless you are already at a big, athletic build)
@natephishy hi im 14 6'4 and 250 and the coaches are excited to see me out there as a freshman so yea your a good size bit if you want to be a great o lineman you need about 20 plus pounds im 250 and i still need more
@PaintballAce7 size is overrated. I'm 6'1 225 and im coming in for an all state tackle/ defensive end and he was 6'3, 230. Size is much overrated. Strength, speed, and footwork are key.
@UrlacherBears54 its key until you get higher into the competition and your going against someone as fast and as strong as you, but he has an extra 50 pounds.
321ian, Split the defender in half. Your never head up. Your outside (kick) foot should split the defender between his crotch, when he slants your now in position because your half a step ahead. Also, your first step is not back, set up right away. If D. end is playing in a "Tuff" position(head up) your first step is post.
i dnt like this one... look at the way 99 pass blocks, hes opening his hips and that leave and openiong for a fast defensive lineman to cut bak in....he needs to keeps his hips squared up sit bak and wait for the defender to come to him.... well thats how i do it atleast...
@louis76ster No it doesnt. He's not engaging somebody so how can you even judge that? the kickslide and pound slide are textbook in the video. If the defender turns his shoulders,so does the olineman. I would agree if the olineman was just straight up charging him.
your guy's comments are funny, there is no one proper way to pass or run block. It's about techniques not everybody's feet move the same way...THIS VIDEO IS AN EXCELLENT FOR BLOCKING
-3 pass blocking. Its so much better for me because im right tackle and getting in a gun stance is much easier than a three point.

Yess Always. You See Running Backs ? They break tackles by getting low. Linemen get control of tha D-Line By Getting low.

Thass a perfect stance for tha Center. Tha lower tha Center is, tha lower tha QB gets and tha QB needs to get low. Are you guys a 5A school?
