A big difference from the RB26(GTR) and the 2JZ(Supra) engines is response even from stock. Honestly inspired me aswell as other tuned GTR's to buy my R33 v-spec over an STI

@granturismoMiguel It should only be 160-200mph... for the Viper depending on the year and Mine's Skyline maybe around 170-180mph. You could also convert the Skyline to RWD very easily. Might give it a little more top speed because of drivetrain power loss. Instead of losing 25% AWD it would maybe lose about 18%. Since that is about the base average loss on both drivetrain. All in all, Mine's Skyline is better because every aspect of it is tuned.
I know I'm going to get alot of flak for this, but both the Supra and Skyline will eat any muscle car in a straight line and (obviously) on the corners.
@flappy188 I think the r35 sort of lost the standard on the skyline series. Losing the RB series was a mistake. The VR motor just isnt as nice in my opinion.

Its called "chatter". Its the blow-off from the turbo wastegate. When the boost is created and the gear is changed the excess gasses need to be expelled to prevent over-boost which would damage the turbo. You can get 2 types of blowoff as far as my limited knowledge suggests,them being "chatter" and the more common "pshttsssss" sound you hear with turo-charged engines.

I Love both these cars! The Mines R34 looks like the better of the two, still don't care, love both! Owning these cars would be a dream, but to own them right maintenance would be non-stop.

Hahaha!! Tsuchiya drove the Toyota GT-One (TS020) in the 1999 at Le Mans, the Honda NSX GT-R 1 also at Le Mans, but in 1995, and he even drove in JGTC. So the Mine's Skyline is sort of a daily driver to him..rather than Orido...LOL!! None-the-less, the Mine's Skyline makes times that rival the times of JGTC cars according to time trials at Motegi and Tsukuba Circuit.
well these tuner factories are more about function not fashion, the front diffuser(spoiler) is used for aerodynamic purposes and the rear wing has downforce to keep more grip in the rear tired
Ive never seen a RPM rising like the R34 before...mabye a race car but never on a tunned car...an american car look so dumm beside this, not even a tunned 997 have this acceleration
its also all wheel drive therefore better accel. But hell, the R34 is my dream car, so eh... Hands down, R34, worlds best tuner/car in the world in my opinion

on the straight supra can definitely take a skyline, i used to think skyline was the fastest cuz u know woow its a skyline blah blah but later i learned the 2jz is just as powerful if not more than the RB26, but the Skyline is a better track car because of the atessa AWD system, supras aren't known for their handling but straight speed
saying one engine is more powerful than the other is not really possible. both engines can be modified and tuned to produce well over 1000 hp. also, both cars received a huge amount of road racing support in japan's jgtc series. they both can be great track cars. it's just that most people choose to drag race supra's because it's easier to make big power with the 2jz. also most skyline owners keep the twin turbos, while those with supra's switch to a single turbo setup

JDM parts for you, the blowoff valves used is probably an Amuse...never finding a blowoff that sounds like that, but then again its the tuning of the car too...Japanese know their fuckin cars
I don't know what kind of blowoff the Supra has, but the funny sound is caused by the fact that it doesn't relieve all the boost properly, making the air bounce back on the turbo compressor wheel. It's not very healthy for the turbo, it sounds cool though. Other cars can also make this noise, just build more boost than the blowoff can handle :)
So the mines guy says that he didn't bore the engine because that will give better response. As in not swapping engines or using a bigger engine liter kit? Because I'm gonna try to build a Evo 9 following the same idea as the Mine's R34, so I'm wondering if I should put in a 2.3 liter engine block and a 2.3 liter stroker kit or not. If it'll make the engine response faster I would. Any suggestions?
a 2.3 liter should have better engine response than the 2 liter since the larger displacement will help spool the turbo quicker. But it's also a question of which cams you choose, the mine's skyline only have 252 degrees duration on the cams, but they have a higher lift of 10.05mm.

Hahaha!! Tsuchiya drove the Toyota GT-One (TS020) in the 1999 at Le Mans, the Honda NSX GT-R 1 also at Le Mans, but in 1995, and he even drove in JGTC. So the Mine's Skyline is sort of a daily driver to him..rather than Orido...LOL!! None-the-less, the Mine's Skyline makes times that rival the times of JGTC cars according to time trials at Motegi and Tsukuba Circuit.

well these tuner factories are more about function not fashion, the front diffuser(spoiler) is used for aerodynamic purposes and the rear wing has downforce to keep more grip in the rear tired

Aero gives better handling so it might actually make it slower on the track. If it were a drag.. Maybe

What i ment was it handle better making it get faster track times then without aero. it will be slower in the straight but faster in the corners.

Ive never seen a RPM rising like the R34 before...mabye a race car but never on a tunned car...an american car look so dumm beside this, not even a tunned 997 have this acceleration

its also all wheel drive therefore better accel. But hell, the R34 is my dream car, so eh... Hands down, R34, worlds best tuner/car in the world in my opinion

on the straight supra can definitely take a skyline, i used to think skyline was the fastest cuz u know woow its a skyline blah blah but later i learned the 2jz is just as powerful if not more than the RB26, but the Skyline is a better track car because of the atessa AWD system, supras aren't known for their handling but straight speed

saying one engine is more powerful than the other is not really possible. both engines can be modified and tuned to produce well over 1000 hp. also, both cars received a huge amount of road racing support in japan's jgtc series. they both can be great track cars. it's just that most people choose to drag race supra's because it's easier to make big power with the 2jz. also most skyline owners keep the twin turbos, while those with supra's switch to a single turbo setup

Everytime I see Skylines it instantly reminds me of the original Gran Turismo for Playstation :)
What an awesome car.
I'm more of a sport sedan Bimmer or sports car Ferrari guy, but there is no denying the absolutle beastlyness of the Skyline.

JDM parts for you, the blowoff valves used is probably an Amuse...never finding a blowoff that sounds like that, but then again its the tuning of the car too...Japanese know their fuckin cars

I don't know what kind of blowoff the Supra has, but the funny sound is caused by the fact that it doesn't relieve all the boost properly, making the air bounce back on the turbo compressor wheel. It's not very healthy for the turbo, it sounds cool though. Other cars can also make this noise, just build more boost than the blowoff can handle :)

So the mines guy says that he didn't bore the engine because that will give better response. As in not swapping engines or using a bigger engine liter kit? Because I'm gonna try to build a Evo 9 following the same idea as the Mine's R34, so I'm wondering if I should put in a 2.3 liter engine block and a 2.3 liter stroker kit or not. If it'll make the engine response faster I would. Any suggestions?

a 2.3 liter should have better engine response than the 2 liter since the larger displacement will help spool the turbo quicker. But it's also a question of which cams you choose, the mine's skyline only have 252 degrees duration on the cams, but they have a higher lift of 10.05mm.
