  • Legal, mas investiram tanto trabalho para procurar estrelas... mas e dai, que que eu ganho com isso!

  • VY Canis Majoris. Enough said.

  • I have to correct you, it's not Sirius, it's Sirius A.

  • and VY Canis Majoris?

  • size doesn't matter any more once you comparing with the universe! the sun and the atom is one size!!!

  • i think the universe is infinite. if we have microscopic cells in our body and what if they have smaller cells in theirs. look at the proportion. same as this planet compared to those giant stars out there.

  • pebble?....pebble?.....we are less than nothing in this universe! the human mind cannot even begin to fathom the sheer size of the universe, who knows? maybe even god, yes, GOD, lives somewhere out there!

  • @DB8ed Now I'm glad you bring up the "pebble" part. For two reasons, actually. Firstly, "pebble in the sky" refers to a book by Isaac Asimov. Google it, and read it - it's lovely. Secondly, your comments is not about VY Canis Majoris and I thank you for that.

  • @analogikdotcom oh yes! i have heard of that book, i didnt know it was a referrnce to it, and yes, i think we all know the BIGEST star is canis majoris, i know, no need to bitch and whine that its not in the video, it seems like you get alot of "oh its not in here! baawwww!"

  • @DB8ed God's probably a fake, but yea, MAYBE. Pfffffff

  • I CAN SEE MY HOUSE FROM HERE 0:35 :)

  • yessssssss, we going to get rape by aliens.

  • Where is Pistol Star and VY cm?

  • whats the use of a universe if theres onthing to admire it

  • @pivotcrave if a tree falls in the forest with no one to hear it. does it make a sound?

  • @tisilwm yes it does but it would go on unnoticed without the ears of the earths creatures to listen.

im just saying, i pity those universes where life cant arise

  • @pivotcrave ? universes. it only takes 1 planet for life to rise.

  • @tisilwm its only hypothical in double sence, you know where different universes yada yada, what i meant was a universe with laws of phicics whrong for life to begin in the first place

  • We humans will rule this universe!

  • You have forgotten vy canis majoris, the largest star in universe!

  • Stunning!

  • This video was cool, and then it started sucking when they didn't show VY Canis Majoris.

  • @itstonymacaroni I know. You guys keep reminding us of this every day.

  • @analogikdotcom I know. I just said that for the lulz.

  • @analogikdotcom Sort it out then. =)

  • @analogikdotcom Well you have to admit it's kind of ridiculous to talk about "Giant Stars" and then leave out VY. That's like supposedly talking about the "Best Basketball Players of All Time" and then not even mentioning Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James or Wilt Chamberlain.

I'd really like to see you guys redo this video with a few changes. Use the same great graphics and explanation, but add VY and use a side-by-side comparison so people can actually grasp scale.

  • @sonicskilz Yes you're right, thought if I do that then I will have to update the video every time new giant star is found. I think we'll focus on doing something new instead. Any suggestions?

  • @analogikdotcom porn?

  • @analogikdotcom You could add "at the time of this video (maybe mention the year) this is the biggest known star". It's easy for people to forget about the "we used to think, but now we know" issue with science. Or maybe add an annotation to that effect. That'd be the least amount of work.

  • How do you explain that space is infinite because unlike number space is a thing?

  • Woopi Goldberg is the new Canis Majoris.

  • @Pighood Nah, Oprah is the new Canis Majoris, or better yet, Chuck Norris is the new Canis Majoris :)

  • All these puny stars could fit inside VY Canis Majoris!

  • they should have mentioned the VY canis majoris

  • my penis is bigger

  • zajebisty filmik nie wiedziałem ze słonce to gwiazda xD

  • i dont think jupiter can fit 1000 earths

  • i ment antares

  • whats up with that vy canis majoris is bigger in fact there are alot of stars bigger than arcturus but the largest star we know is vy canis majoris. thats all im gonna say...

  • how did i GET here??

i started off by watching nyan cat

  • where are the VY CANIS MAJORIS?!

  • beetlejuice star =DD

  • Comment removed

  • vy canis majoris thats all what ill say

  • damn those stars are almost as big as my dick

  • Does is possible to see an explosion of a star from my window???

  • its like star size comparasent

where did u get the idea from?

  • BEATLE JUICE!!!!

  • Hah! yeah!, Pluto still in it, you don't see that often.

  • THE EXTRAORDINARILY SUPREMELY INTELLIGENTLY DESIGNED UNIVERSE REQUIRES AN EXTRAORDINARILY SUPREMELY INTELLIGENT DESIGNER WITH INCOMPREHENSIBLE WISDOM TO DESIGN & CREATE IT ~ TO ESTABLISH IT SO YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND IT ALL IN A MILLION LIFE TIMES ~ WITH OMNIPOTENT POWER TO MAKE THE UNIVERSE OMNIPOTENT SO YOU CANNOT MOVE IT ~ AND OMNIPRESENCE TO OBSERVE IT ALL WHICH YOU CANNOT TRAVEL IN A THOUSAND LIFETIMES.

This would be a good time to study the holy Bible and seek the Lord.

  • @MegaSage007 The "Holy" Bible is edited more times then the speed of light has traveled this universe. Peace

  • @MegaSage007 The Bible is an artifact, it dose not hold the the answers to the complex questions modern man has about his place in the universe. Its existence will not, nor should it stop the person who seeks to better understand and explain his existance through science.

  • its chuck norris soccer ball lol

    :>}

  • New units of measurement:

1 Hiroshima (Hir) = The power of Hiroshima Bomb

    100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000hir=1 Chuck Norris

  • he forget abt canis majoris.

now that is a daddy of all stars

  • how bag or how tiny are the humans inside all of this?

  • Betelgeuse is bigger than Antares.

  • this is very bright, cant look

  • @cashflowization lol turn down your monitor brightness.

  • Es lo mas cercano al ki de Chuck Norris

  • Based on the size and scale of the universe and everything therein, the Earth, in my opinion, is nothing more then a highly sophisficated space ferring vessel. Obviously, someone or something of great omnipotence created and put us on this tiny, life sustaining spacecraft and sent us on, what appears to be, an intricate and endless voyage through the cosmos.

  • @fanbutton Then, also because of the size and scale of the universe, you must admit that there could be other planets such as ours that are floating through the universe as well. What a waste of space it would be if we were the only ones.

  • @the81stviewer It is because it would seem as though it is a terrible waste of space that obviously only a grand creator could have put us here. Think about it. The Earth's moon is perfectly positioned at the right distance, size and mass to all but eliminate the Earth's wobble so that seasonal changes can sprout life, yet because of its size and mass, in comparison to the Earth, should not be where it is in the first place. How the Earth captured the Moon is a mystery in inself.

  • @fanbutton The moon is inexplicably just in the right place. But it is only in the right place right now, it wasn't always were it is, and it will move again. Just because we are here at a certain time to observe this phenomena, does not mean that we were put here TO observe it. Also, we are only talking about these two bodies...which inhabit a space too infintessimally small to regard in consideration to the size of the cosmos. It would be like obsessing over an electron within the sun.

  • they forgot VY Canis Majoris which is bigger than antaris

  • @sigge951 its the biggest star known

  • @JakaxBone3672 yes..

  • Antares is the 10th biggest star in our galaxy

there are some much bigger than this one

  • @sigge951 10th? Are you sure? I'm pretty sure we have no idea what's really out there... no matter how far we go we can find more and more wonder.

  • @DejanSEO in our galaxy, not entire universe..

  • @sigge951 Point taken.

  • soo...who else is now athiest after this vid ;) never have believed in god but dont have a problem with any religion

  • um what about satern they didnt show that ahahahah

  • VV cephei is larger than antaris and vy canis majoris larger than that!

  • that would be the nice way to put it, but ya

  • we ain't shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How are we supposed to go explore when GE and other nuclear companies radiation has us all sick?

  • stupid vy canis majoris is not there faaaaaiiiiilllllllllll !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • vy canis majoris

  • Sun, I am disappoint.

  • God wants me to be Atheist, care argue with his judgement?

  • the problem is...antares isn't the biggest known star, it's VY CANIS MAJORIS

(there's actually one smaller but bigger than antares, MU cephei).

    it's comparing a fucking tennis ball to a basket-ball.

  • @ApertureScienceLabs

You do not deserve a portal reference, you ignorant buffoon.

  • my penis is the biggest star :D

  • wtf. i don't understand. what does this have to do with killing aspies and stuffing their bodies in a trunk? am i missing something? giggles.

  • dang ur anus is pretty big

  • SubhanAllah.

  • Allah-O-Akbar.

  • How incredible! God certainly had a lot of work to do in only 6 days.

  • @ApertureScienceLabs more like 13.4 billion years pal

  • @peanuts2105 It was 6000 years ago, in 6 days, "pal."

  • @ApertureScienceLabs that doesn't even make any sense?!

  • @peanuts2105 it doesn't? Well, you must not have been paying attention.

  • @ApertureScienceLabs you also belive in SANTA right?

  • @XAddict3dX the original St. Nick, yes. The current falsified Santa, no.

  • @ApertureScienceLabs well, god for you! good luck with your imaginary friend's than , little man

  • @XAddict3dX yes, you too, wth you imaginary fairytales.

  • @ApertureScienceLabs Yes, imaginary science that is proovable in tests that we can actually see and touch. Of course your words written down by some human 2000 years ago is the all knowing truth.

  • @ApertureScienceLabs Sorry, falsified?

    When was this?

Just like God, we can't simply look at what we know, because I can always make up a shit excuse to save my shit beliefs. "Oh, Santa doesn't live on the surface, he has an invisible underground bunker that can only be entered if you believe and have a super secret key"

Like God, we can't prove Santa isn't real, but it's just ridiculous to assume he is.

  • @ApertureScienceLabs its not thats a myth

  • @ApertureScienceLabs Yes! He is amazing. I believe his definition of a day might have been longer than ours.

  • Club(e) Natureza Gleam ... (Google it)

  • Antares yea

  • kool

  • Even the BIGGEST star show here is just a snack for a Black Hole :-)

  • @dilwich123 yea i no its crazy how strong some things are imagine what could we do to stop it cummin to us though :(

  • Imagine then how Great God is God is no Man nor thing God is what he is n No One shall see God but who God wills God the Eternal Self Subsisting Self Existing,Unique(Nothing is like He!........N Atheists reject or deny there Designer ,there Creators! In this vast creation, i believe there is life out there just not similar to ours, i feel so bless to be a believer! Amen Allah Akbar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God is truly Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hi you tubers . i am from VY canis majoris

    where you from guys ?

  • @mrZezzo1 You see that speck of dust on you're jacket? That would be our planet.

  • @Knightyme 2 ours ago I accidently stepped on a ant. What would a alien do, 20.000 bigger then us. not able to see us without a microscope? he could step on us(fly us over), distroy everything we know, without ever knowing what he did. only turning on his windshield whipers.

  • @kitchenfromhell I don't know a being ~35 Km high would be subject to some serious gravitational forces.

    175 cm * 20000 = 3500000cm

    3500000/100 = 35000 meters

    35,000 m /1000 = 35 Km

Mt Everest (8.9 Km) would be about knee knocker height - ouch. :)

  • @Knightyme Oh yes, that fellow walking around here would really be nasty. It could be an alien in a spacecraft just not seeing us as life, and accidently whipe us out.

  • @kitchenfromhell Possibly.

Getting back to reality, any 'being' large enough not to 'see' the earth would, if not already, collapse under its own gravitational force, into a more or less round object.

  • ohhhhhh cuantos planetas tan gigantes la jodio te doy un dedo verde

  • Are you Sirius?

  • @riki2cool lol!

  • Really good vidio about planets and stars. Out of 10 I give you 9 because everything is good but you forgot even bigger stars but well done, keep it up :)

  • ahhh my ballz are bigger than that!!!!

  • Who named these?

  • Pollux ha ha

  • It's very small.

When I put my hand on my screen,

    My hand is bigger.

  • @Tombuutkamp2000 i put my cock on the screen it makes these planets look like a molicule

  • @spitfirescotty123

    yeah...

i did not asked for gay porn

(sorry i had to say it otherwise i get crazy...)

  • @Tombuutkamp2000

Well, you have too small screen.

  • @KuningasVoittamaton

Wan't to know my display specifications?

    2048x1536 120DPI, 120HZ Refresh rate...

    Damn your dumb.

  • chuck norris is on VY CANIS MAJORIS

  • What?? No VV Cephei or VY Canis Majoris?

  • Sru.

  • FOR ASTONISHING FACTS, JUST TYPE IN THE BOX:

    Quran and science

    SEVEN PARTS!

  • Where is Vy Canis majoris? where are Pistol Star? and Mu Cephey?

  • How can a proportion be frightening unless it relates to something human??

  • 'But we are humans!'

    WE ARE??!!

    Intelligent woman... !

  • If I ever run into VY Canis Majoris ama make it mah bitch!!

  • yes i no cuz they said in 10 skies

  • These videos are nice but never ever come close to an appropriate scale. Because Sun alone is million of times larger than the earth, how can you show a comparison on a computer screen that averages 1024 pixels in width. You need 975 computer screens to represent the sun and on pixel on another screen to represent the earth.

  • @Anothercoilgun The volume of the sun is well over one million times greater than that of Earth's, but the diameter of the sun is a mere 109 times greater, so we are able to depict accurate representations of size on a single screen.

  • this video hasnt hit viral they lied and huge FAIL

  • there are 7 skies

  • @IEAT20CHICKENS name the seven skies then big shot

  • Yes, giant stars have a diamenter of 100 or even 1000 times bigger than our

Sun and a volume a million or even a billion times greater than our Sun but their mass is only 50-100 times , maybe 200 times greater than our Sun because these giant stars have an extremely low density...thousands of times less dense than air !

  • 0:38 Sirius Black

  • size is a state of mind!!

so whatever you think is big...ITS BIG ALRIGHT!!

ignore that VY Canis Majoris bitch!!

  • when we dont think about canas majoris, we are big!

  • Size doesn't matter boys. Don't feel bad.

  • cool

  • Big stars? Cool.

  • our journey has just begun... soooo looks like i wont be alive to see the progress :/

  • Sirius is so beautiful! <=-)

  • Several Hundred million times the size of our sun? I don't think thats accurate at all.. The super-massive black hole that holds our galaxy together is only about 4 million times the size of our sun.. Several hundred million seems absurd.

  • Size is measured by volume, not by mass. That is how we can say the suns are "bigger" than black holes, even though they arent because their not nearly as massive. Which means that your argument is false. But still, got to agree with you, it seems absurd!

  • @Einareen hmm i didn't consider that... cool

  • Guys, didn't you notice there was Orion at background and betelgeuse was right there.

  • @zgutas21 please stop trying to be smart you're not very good at it *_* that doesnt make sense, even if you're saying shit like 'if a tree falls in a forrest and no ones there to hear it does it make a sound?' then you sir think the wrong side of the box.

  • if there were no human, there would be no stars. Think about that:) We are explorers

  • @Zgutas21

You have no brain, so you can't have any smart. Quite obviously the case for you. You didn't consider that the stars where there countless billions of years before us and will be after we are gone?

  • 00:46 BEETLEJUICE!!!

  • @PimpWizard3000 yeah.. Just like in The Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy :P

  • @PimpWizard3000 hahaha is true!!

  • Canis is big but when you compare it with the ic1101 galaxy which has a diameter of 5,5 million lightyears and has 100 trillion stars in it, it's nothing, standing in the same place as the milky way it should even swallow andromeda (which has 1 trillion stars), compared to this even the milky way is a dwarf

  • Size matters only in our mind .

  • This really shows us how unimpotant the Earth is in terms of the galactic environment- saying that earth is a part of the galaxy is like saying that a water molecule is a part of the sea; It is, but it is so trivial to say so that it may as well not be a part of it.

  • imagine star 1000000000000000 bigger then vy canis majoris... Now do you feel small ?

  • sun " I R KING I RULE SYSTEM" VY canis majoris " STFU NOOB"

  • earth = fail

  • what if everything we see in the outer space, the stars, the dusts, other galaxies were all but just illusions? HAHA scientists were fucked up!!!

  • and the red super giant just pwns erm all in this video

  • "And our journey has just begun"
