Interesting...but not town crushing. The base is covered with rocks from previous falls that would easily shield the town. Unless a "large" boulder or a quarter of the mountain rained down, I'd venture to say that the structures below are relatively safe!

It is clear that many similar rock displacements have occurred in the same area and the town is still very much intact.
Having just climbed a live volcano 12 days ago I an well aware of the dangers falling rocks can cause, but again, this "Didn't almost crush the town".
