Hi... I too play by ear but usually always in F as I don't know music or notes. I have asked this question and no one ever backs it up with helping me figure it out. Just like Because he Lives you are playing. I can play it in F but there are always a "few" cords that are missing from an actual sheet of music when I do. I would love to have someone I could find out "missing" cords from on songs. Once I know cords for one song, then I can use them in many other songs. What do you suggest? Steve

Southern Gospel does at times have a ragtime flavor to it. I love jflowers10's piano artistry. It is indeed because He (Christ) lives that such beauty is even possible musically.

Some Christians, not familiar with Southern Gospel, may be distracted or surprised by this style of playing. In north Alabama, northwest Georgia, Tennessee and other parts of the Deep South, this is indeed worship music. I know it is for me. It makes me feel closer to God and desire to be more committed to Him!

In addition to the piano and organ, did I also hear a little bit of electric bass in the background, or is that just my imagination? In any case, I love this arrangement, and in fact, it sounds like an example of prelude music they might have done in the church I grew up in (Southern Baptist). BTW, for a while, I was our church's organist in that church, and we too had a Hammond, which I enjoyed playing.

Take it from another old-line Pentecostal...these people see their music as a calling; a gift to be used to praise God in His sanctuary. Most of the time the idea of selling CDs of this would never occur to them...they are playing to the glory of Jesus! To hear music like this, you have to be in the house of the Lord!
