i really wish to stay with her my girl forever, i wish the star will do that for me but i must go away from her to make her live normally, here comes my second wish to die and be her angel to take care of her,, share her happiness and sads,, her smiles and tears,, but dont know if the star can do that for me or not, afraid to kill my self and the wish will not be true but how about it can be true,, i must die to try it out.crazy yes iam,, my soul is so cold mind is lost heart beating slower.....
I have loved this music, and Cliff Edwards voice since I first heard this back in the 50s. This is the first time I have heard the full version. Its pure magic. Thanks youtube.
I don't know if a film has been made of his life, but it should be. He did beautiful music, was really famous, but died virtually unknown as a charity patient in a California nursing home. I read that his body was unclaimed for something like 3 days. Years later Disney provided a head-stone for his grave since there apparently wasn't one. He was brilliant but still had a rather tragic life. Left an amazing legacy, though. Lucky for us.
@alwaysdreamingable Well, it's probably because it's buried deep in the childhood memory of millions of Americans--and others--who have seen countless Walt Disney films. I always loved beautiful music, and I can remember that for me, even 60 or more years ago, the opening of the films, with this song, was the highlight of the movie for me.
@murraymae Thank you very much! Yes, I agree. I share your enthusiasm. It's just beautiful. Edwards had one of the highest and prettiest falsetto voices ever!
My dad took me to see Pinnochio at the theater when I was a youngster and I heard Jiminy Cricket sing this song and I have loved this song ever since. It brings back fond memories of childhood days. Thank you so much for being able to listen to it again and thanks for You Tube for being the vehicle to presenting it.
