Ýes, yes, they had these intros. If I remember well, selecting K' with the A button from M.U.G.E.N., he would be in this black palette. If you wanted to choose the original "purple", you had to hold start + press A.

k is a kyo kusanagi clone,

and so is krizalid.

K is incomplete, thats why he has the re glove, otherwise he could kill himself i think.

Krizalid on the other hand is supposed to be a "perfect" kyo clone, but just has some badass attacks.
