Hey al u needa come to the springfield ma races with ur sti bro and show these guys whats up if u wanna come gps the post office on liberty st in springfield ma we meet up at 1030 pm
I just had a ringland failure on my 2011 STi sedan, time for a built motor that will last longer then the stock one :) Something like one in this video. :)
@srmicrowave The stock pistons are very weak in the newer Subarus - not that they were very strong in the earlier Subarus either. It seems they got super weak after 2008. Another bad thing is the really delayed transition from closed loop to open loop. It really hangs onto the lean a/f a long time on the stock ecu (I assume for emssions control, and this results in super high egts and a lot of thermal demands. The stock cars stays very lean till 4600 rpms
Nothing wrong with Open Source -- allows people to tune their own cars without paying stupid fees. If EcuTek is so good, the market will keep it alive -- if it can only survive by removing open source, then it's a piece of shit. RomRaider and ECUFlash FTMFW!
@mbdulka I am simply giving credit where credit is due. Ecutek invested a lot of time and enegy to make the race rom and all the features it has. It is a really amazing product and really kicks amazing ass. Highly recomended. I appreciate their efforts tremendously. Again, the Race Rom is amazing.

I don't see why there is anything wrong with open source tuning? I had used an accessport for over a year I decided to just use open source since I wasn't having multiple maps made that would require me to switch maps which is a big reason why people use Cobb instead of open source. You can say that open source are windows and Cobb or ecutek are apple... one is "open" and the other is "closed" but neither are bad!
you can compare the open source thing to the internet and music industry. it may take away from some of the profits of the top players in the industry, but encourages growth by making the technology readily available to those who otherwise might not have been able to afford it.
@Dynoflash open source destroying the business of tuning? Umm, thats a pretty ignorant point of view to take I would think and shows a lack of understanding about what the theory of open source is all about.
The only man I would ever hand the keys of my STI to would be Big Al. Your videos prove your work is above most shops i've seen or been to. Quality is not sacrificed. I hope you can continue to grow in your career.
Big thanks to the open source people for doing what they do without any means of financial compensation. If racing was affordable more people would do it, and there would be more race tracks.
why not get the invidia exhaust for this car that single tip shit isnt that great looking
