Jesus christ, so people gives loads of money and you use children to produce textiles, bakery, and farm products? and still need more money? and you are in the plans of GoD? i am so pissed of, i think i'm gonna puke, poor children, you don't care a damn about the causes of poverty, you just exploit them, keep them poor and ignorant so you can abuse them the best
Point one: I'm the editor, not the director of the film or the founder of the charity. Point two: Although these children make textiles and bake etc they are given the rare opportunity of actually having a vocation so that they can earn their own money in an honest and dignified way as opposed to merely scavenging for food in sewers and begging for money. Your faux liberal opinions SOUND impressive to the passive observer, but they are uninformed and reactionary.
@whenthelightsarelow Look I live in Bolivia, I visited the installations, they tried to sell me some stickers with the legend: "God loves his children" I bought some bakery (out of empathy).
Work opportunity for pennies is not so rare, you can look at the statics of bolivian slavery in Argentina or Spain, poor people is always cheapely exploited. I don't mean to disturb you but because of medieval myths (like the ban on abortion or drugs) these children are in the streets in the first place.
@Laparanoicafierita Ok Bolivia is full of poor people. BECAUSE, women are condemned to have 10 to 15 children because of the medieval myths on abortion, and of course industry is forbidden, can you picture these children in poverty if Bolivia was allowed to export coca-cola? (with cocaine of course) that would mean: education, health care, and zero chances of faith-heads trying to feel better (about themselves) throwing leftovers to the poor ones. These medieval myths are GOD-based
@Laparanoicafierita I still don't see how any of this relates to this film or this charity. Of course there are problems, which is precisely why Alalay try to do their bit - however small - to compensate. Rather than offer genuine work experience, rehabilitation and education I suppose you think that this charity should just leave them to suffer. Alalay don't provide Spain and Argentina with slaves, nor do they exploit children or export Cocaine. Are you suggesting revolution?
@Laparanoicafierita For those who have never been to Alalay centers, I can tell you that this organization was created out of Love. The Model Alalay uses should be used around the world to help children in need. God Bless
These children did not have a roof over their heads before they were rescued by Alalay. Now they have love, food, school, access to doctors, clean clothes, ect and an oportunity to break out of the poverty cycle in which they were born. These children are learning how to bake, make clothes as an extra curricular activity so that they can support themselves when they "graduate" from Alalay. They do attend school, so they are not being exploited as you put it, they are actually being helped.
I think that the chlldren who make it to "Alalay" are very fortunate.
