I honestly thought, and still think, this song is about loving someone, i know it's odd, but that's the feeling i get when i hear it, like an admiration, the kind of love we don't quite understand and are slowly interpreting and deciding what we're gonna do with it - with those feeling of love, i really love how they're songs are so open for interpretation.

You just cant pin it down to one way and that is what is so great about it, it isnt like all of the big mainstream songs that have an obvious and clear way to interpret it and any other way is pretty much wrong. Just like a good poem or book or even a movie, this song makes you think for yourself and thats real fucking music dude

How can you listen to this song and not think it's about Jesus? I'm not labelling it 'christian' or not, that's not the point. Jesse is singing to Jesus, telling him that he's worried about what might happen to him if he dies. And that if he doesn't die before Jesus comes back, that he might not be ready for Him.

whether or not you are a religious person you have to recognize the influence of Jesus Christ and the sacrifices he made. You may not believe he performed miracles, but even if he didn't he was far more influential than any person in history. not to mention most of this song isn't about religion, and most parts that are about religion are metaphorical.
