Kryptonite has recalled all of the locks using the barrel keys and replaced them with a new key type (see Abloy locks and disc locks) which is not subject to the bic pen attack.

I had a roommate borrow my bike once and the fool Krypto locked it over a sidewalk grill and sure enough he dropped the key ring into the grill when trying to unlock it, had to get a ConEd guy to open it for him and fish it out. I should have had him get a pen, unlock the bike, and throw the lock down the hole with the key. Scary video.
