And since when does a car have to be racing, speeding, or even at fault in order to be flipped upside down and take most of the damage? All it could have taken was for that car to be flipping a u-turn and one of the racers to hit him, he flips, rolls, and catches most of the damage. It's not out of the ordinary.

Well, if 1 "innocent" woman died, and 9 kids went to the hospital, I'm guessing two or more car loads of kids were racing down a road and some lady either pulled out or changed lanes in front them at the last minute.

actually they have places like this in almost every state. i mean you would be hella surprised, these places have two lanes so you can race somebody and they will even time you with a photographed finish, and are pretty safe. if you think about it, it almost sounds like a race track
well DUH, there are racetracks, but i live in the city and they are FAR away, plus they aren't cheap. eventually when I have enough money saved up I'd like to buy a piece of land somewhat nearby and open a "street-style" racetrack with strips and technical skill sections, plus covered service areas to work on your cars. If i could get sponsors or shop there then it would be a great FREE alternative to keep everyone safe. it would be nice if we already had them!
well the catch would be that users would have to sign waivers and for those that snuck in without waivers there would be signs posted at the entrances saying that the owners of the property waive all liability for damages caused to and from unregistered users. I think it's a pretty good idea and it would cut down on a lot of casualties and save the city a lot of money on cleanup and repairs.
but of course there could have to be some insurance, but hey, that could be sponsored as well ^_^

Street racing is really no different than manslaughter, rape, theft, DUI and other crimes. It is the willful act of a person who feels that their "thrills" and personal needs outweigh the rights and lives of those around them.

But I know from personal fucking experience that that is not the case. We have street racers and their victims in the ER every week here in Atlanta.
So it just sounds like you are trying to justify illegal, dangerous action. If you live near Atlanta and want to meet some of the victims, give me a PM. Might even be able to take you to an autopsy.

that's pretty much the case. yes, i drive over the limit from time to time, but not unreasonably unless i'm on the freeway and it's visibly empty. I have a deep respect for speed and death and i wouldn't be able to live with myself if i ever hurt another person.

djdryon - I will see if I can get permission to tape some injuries here. The hospital has a policy against it, but really it should be a matter between the doctor and patient (or their family) given HIPAA rules.
CroakerMD posted some videos from a mission trip to Africa. One of them is of a man who hit a dash. Only a few seconds because he was bleeding so bad I told him to drop the camera and help.

actually they have places like this in almost every state. i mean you would be hella surprised, these places have two lanes so you can race somebody and they will even time you with a photographed finish, and are pretty safe. if you think about it, it almost sounds like a race track

well DUH, there are racetracks, but i live in the city and they are FAR away, plus they aren't cheap. eventually when I have enough money saved up I'd like to buy a piece of land somewhat nearby and open a "street-style" racetrack with strips and technical skill sections, plus covered service areas to work on your cars. If i could get sponsors or shop there then it would be a great FREE alternative to keep everyone safe. it would be nice if we already had them!

well the catch would be that users would have to sign waivers and for those that snuck in without waivers there would be signs posted at the entrances saying that the owners of the property waive all liability for damages caused to and from unregistered users. I think it's a pretty good idea and it would cut down on a lot of casualties and save the city a lot of money on cleanup and repairs.
but of course there could have to be some insurance, but hey, that could be sponsored as well ^_^

YoMaGe3 - Nope. I bought a go-cart & spent my time racing in the local league. Then moved up to the SCCA. My first race car was a VW rabbit. You learn a lot about momentum racing when you only have 70 hp.
