  • @SonnyNHemi This video was taken at the annual rodeo in Swan River, Manitoba, Canada back in 2005.

  • ok 4 was the best ride 13 best wreck

  • those poor horses, did yu no that most of the time it breaks their spirit a horse shouldnt have to go round buckin people off for the fun of it.

ive seen it before when a horse has had enough of everythin they wind them up by usin a stun gun and sometimes when they are runnin round n buckin that much ive seen them break their legs, if thats not cruel i dont no wa is

  • @lottieluvs this reply is funny, i love reading P.E.T.A. fans posts

  • @lottieluvs educated response fail.

  • 2# 10# rocked

    8# 11# 15# ouch!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you people think they put it on tight? No, cause if it was tight it may nont come off!

  • Does anyone know which association this is? Most of the riders look like 1st timers or H.S. J.R. level.

  • Ouch!

  • #2 was the best bareback ride and #12 was the best saddle bronc ride. They were in control the whole ride and were able to stay centered by far the best rides on some of the better horses in that rodeo.

  • I think the person that made this vid just wants to know who they thought was the best horse/ride . I don't see anything here about animal abuse opinions. I like #11, that horse could fly. #20 OUCH

  • the bucking strap in laid across the kidneys. before the horse is turned out into the arena the strap is pulled tight, this putts incredible pain on the kidneys. this is why the horse bucks, it's trying to escape. that is why the horse continues to buck even when the rider has fallen off.

the two riders loosen or remove the strap, the pain stops and the horse stops bucking almost instantly.

  • IM sorry but you need to work on your Horse anatomy the flank Strap is put on about 6 to 8 inches behind the kidneys

  • The flank is still a sensitive anatomical area.

Since the majority of broncos do continue to buck until the strap is released, it can be concluded that the strap is undoubtedly irritating and possibly painful (as sensitivity varies).

  • 11 - ouch his shoulder 12 - not a very hard ride, horse was bucking very consistantly 13 - faceplant!!! 14 - must hurt his back 15 - omg ow. 16 - love that horse's markings 17 - giddyup 18 - ouch againn 19 - off right from the start 20 - another one bites the dust, literally 21 - that's why you need to lean BACK
  • 1 - I love how the white horse bucks when the cowboy leaps onto his back

2 - I love how the pony does a different buck each time

    3 - I think you skipped #3..

4 - he only bucks with his right leg! rofl!

5 - nice dismount at the end, that's skill

6 - the poor gray got TRUCKED!

    7 - you skipped #7 also...

8 - omg I was holding my breath the whole time!

    9 - belly flop!

10 - nice ride, wish they'd show all of it..

  • CRULE!

  • cruel? is that what you meant to say? I didn't think so.

  • okey so i spelt it wrong!!. good get over ya self

  • amına kodumun delileri

  • what do these ppl do to these horses besides make them buck so someone can fall off? are these horses ridden? or are they going to be slaughtered, or what??

  • well they sell them to slaughter, or for saddle horses but i would nvr by one there hard to brakeand no papers .sometimes f there good they keep them for breeding

  • o so sad about slagter..:(( but thx for the reply!

  • They go home and make more little buckers-

a good bucker is worth plenty of money

    and the bloodlines have value.

And some of them become ranch horses if they're not too crazy.

  • yea i no, not very nice though is it? i ride western but i dont like bucking broncos

  • to tell you the truth i don't know how hard they are to break but my cousin had a roping horse that was an x bucking horse and he was pretty good. but i have to say he was a little skiddish at first.

  • I know some horses may like this job and some don't. But this can be really painful to the horses' back, And it's one of the main reasons they buck.

  • How can u ppl think this is cruel. These horses are used as broncsbeucase there not good riding horses and besides they like was they do!

  • yeh i know they have a flank strap that annoys them and makes them go crazy, thats why its abusive, they buck to try and get away from pain, but they cant, the sprt is just pointless and a waste of horses talents to be properly ridden

  • IF you could just understand that these horses are doing what they love...some horses hate barrels, some hate pole bending etc. but when they love it there great at it. the Flank stapt just helps for a more uniform buck. The point is if these horses didnt have rodeo they would be at a meat place because no one risks putting people on horses that love to buck. All you nah sayers should do some research!

  • umm yah about 1/3 true. if that only encourages them to buck then why do they still buck after the rider falls?

  • Because the flank is still on until the pickup man comes and clicks it off.

  • check out my profile for some real swan river videos...not this boaring shit

  • hahaha you make absolutely no sense you don't even know what bareback riding is wow your stupid.

  • All you people think that rodeo is mean you come talk to me and I'll show you what a flank is like and where it goes on a horse I ride Bareback horses and you know what it doesn't hurt them one bit they love to buck and if they didn't want to buck they wouldn't!!

  • horses buck when they are scared. Its their natural fight or flight. Flight = run away. Fight = rear, bite, kick, and buck. Bucking when the predetors try to jump on the horses back and the horse bucks to try and get rid of the horse.

  • Also. I ride horses bare back! ive galloped and jumped on a horse bare back, well alright the gallop wasnt intentinal, the horse spooked (poor baby lol) but i stayed on. What difference does that make to knowing what does and doesnt hurt a horse :S

  • ther is a diffrice form bucking bareback and riding or dambass derssage horse bareback so get some true facts and then go yell at people THE RODEO IS NOT CRUEL ENGISH RIDERS SHOULD STAY AWAY FORM THE RODEO

  • I ride Hunter/Jumper and I do barrel racing. It's called DRESSAGE. And bareback is riding without a saddle. Riding a horse is simply putting a saddle and bridle on a horse and riding.

  • Although any form of riding can be cruel if done incorrectly, bronco and other "wild horse" events are undoubtedly abusive considering that they NEVER work alongside the horse coherently and never consider equine mentality/sensitivity.

  • that looks soo mean but i dont really understand how they make them buck but i still think why would anybody want to distress a horse so much

  • they have a flank strap that buggs them so they buck

  • omg those horses look scared shitless!!poor things ! u rodeo ppl should b ashamed of youselves!

  • they started this with bad horses that nobody could ride and people cold still train them but they just wont be as good.FU

  • Omg that is so mean :-(

  • You idiot obviously you have no idea about horses or even their basic anatomy number one the flank strap goes around the horses flank not up in between the horses hind legs next it isn't even that tight for the simple reason that if they are flanked to tight they prob wont want to buck. next the flank is not tightened in the it is pulled when the horse leaves

  • To all you city slickers get a life! I would like to see you try and train one of them horses! You would kill your self that is for shore!

  • i know a girl who is from the city and trains horses

  • yes, there are horse breakers that live in and around the city but if they knew anything about horses they wouldn't be posting rot here.

  • i am from cardif, the capital of wales in the UK. I used to train dressage horses. Now i teach.

  • Dont listen to the rude comments kcpenner, just ignore them. This Vid rocks! The Swan River Northwest Roundup is one of my fave events, i usually go every year.

  • those horses arent hurt. just shut up.

  • All you guys ar so stupid it's not animal cruelty, it doesn't hurt them. They actually hurt us more than we hurt them.

  • [x] If I was One Of Those Horses..Id Buck Yhu Right Off! Nd Then Id Stamp On Yhu! Sorry Bt Im Really frustrated! [x]

  • thts fucking sick!! im so annoyed with ths! its only because yhu put a tight strap over ther prviates and it squeezes em nd they carnt do nuffin bout it! yhu boy cowboys bastards woodnt like it if yhu got strapped up..fuking wankers

Sorry for tha language bt yhu cn understnd any1 being so angry! x xx x

  • this is sick. the horses are tortured with the flank straps sinched up until they cause bleeding- the horses only buck because of this. pain should not be called entertainment.

  • see how calm he is after the rider gets off? it because they took off the second strap... the painful one!

  • If you knew anything about Rodeo you would know that the second stap isn't paintfull

  • Well, i do know something about rodeo. I know that the bulls/horses go mental. People try to ride these 'wild' animals. But as soon as the person get bucked off, some helper on a calm horse rides in to untie the second girth.

  • This second girth, goes very tightly around the sesitive genital area, causing the horse/bull much distress, and the only reason the buck and swearve, is to get away from the pain this strap is causing them. See how the animals instintly calm down as soon as the second strap is removed, they just canter around the ring.

  • Dont try and argue by saying thats because the rider is off, because they are still looking quite wild in some parts even after the rider is off, but as soon as the strap is loosened or taken off, the horse is imediatly calm again. Also, most of these horses arent even wild in the first place. They are bord and bred to be rodeo horses, enduring cruel torments, and painful procedures just before the rider gets on to make them more wound up

  • Then the strap is tightened, the gate is opened, the horse feels the pain, and tries to get away from it. Now tell that the second strap isnt painful!

  • you can't make a horse buck they have a mind of their own too and buckin horses want to buck they are finely tooned athletes bred to buck and nothing else although a good many of them just become saddle horses for one reason or another depending on the horse you just can't make a broke horse buck or one that doesn't want b/c it's impossible

  • I didnt say it went between its legs, i said it went near the genital area. Over it flanks and under it belly. But the part of the horses belly it goes around is near the back, again near the genital area!

  • them poor horses, this is a SICK SICK sport

  • its called ANIMAL CRUELTY you SICK BASTARDS!!!! whoever enjoys this kind of shit is fucken derranged!
