People getting 'knocked down' when shot is more to do with them being surprised, not the impact overwelming the stability of their standing posture. You may as well say your voice has knock down power since you could sneak up behind someone and scare them bad enough that they trip over their feet and fall down.

Considering modern Level III steel strike plates that I have weigh 8.5 pounds each, the ones he had on in this video must have weighed a ton.

And, too all those that asked questions about the level. IDK what the standards were during the time this video was filmed, but today Level III hard plates are rated for 7.62x51mm NATO.

Based on the performance (stopping a 7.62x51 round) it would rate at least Level IV today.

That would of rated a "LEVEL III" the ammo was Ball round a Level 4 NIJ threat would be something like "AP" or M2 3006. AP something that is armor peircing or steel core rounds. a 308. round FMJ can be stopped by level 3 Polyetylene plates so it would be rated Level 3 but again im thinking that those are Ceramic plates so it is basically a "Level 3 threated and a Level 4 system" just making sure you understood' i speicalized in making this stuff a long time ago.

the level should be a "LEVEL 3 threat that would be the 308. FMJ round he fired. and the "vest" would be a Level 4 System.

But likely now and days "plate system are 10 x 12 and likely ridged or more advanced XSAPI pannels are flexable and able too defeat Multi Level 4 threats.

That armor he's wearing must weigh a ton if the backface deformation didn't hurt him (and if it can stop a .458 Win Mag like he said).

This demo is a bit misleading. When a bullet is fired, momentum is conserved, but kinetic energy is NOT conserved. Firing a 7.62 NATO does NOT produce 2700 ft-lbs of recoil energy.

US soldiers in Iraq have gotten broken ribs from being hit in their SAPI armor plates with 7.62x39 AK-47 rounds, and the AK round is nowhere near as powerful as a 7.62 NATO.

which can punch through the NIJ III armor(Interceptor),so army purchase new NIJ III+

338 lapua is more powerfull than all rifles.. But all those cal. are more powerfull than a 308. 308 is effective up to a max of 1800m

It's also proprietary, and extremely uncommon. .375 Ruger, .375 H&H, and .50 BMG will certainly give it more than a run for it's money. Not to say it's not effective for sniping, but it's not "More powerful than all rifles."

The name of the videos you are looking for are: second chance vs. the cop killers, second chance vs. UAP, and magnum force, each video put out had the previous ones till the latest one, (1990s) was like 4 hours long. They were sent to police agencies. rich davis was shot delivering pizza in the late 70s in detroit, and went from there.

He shot himself in the chest, then jumped right back up and fired off 5 rounds at a row of cans (or something like that) to show that he was okay enough to return fire. Those are handgun rounds, this is a freaking .308 (7.62x51) NATO ball round. Way more powerful than either.

Those guys have balls testing out armor like that. That's what some of these guys did back when kevlar was invented to make armor. They actually shot themselves from close range to see if it works. If it didn't obviously they would of been killed.
