  • the flywheel looks like didnt resufe it thu u was right there not a gd thing ......its alway gd to resufe stuff like that wheil u are there even it dont need it alway a wise thing to do

  • @b4322558 Did you read that before you posted? Perhaps you should read it then post it.

  • Nice tutorial. I have a 1.6 4AFE in my 94 Corolla. Very similar but some differences. Maybe videoing a tutorial when I do my clutch in a month or two will give me inspiration to do it myself. Boring and time consuming but saves paying out money to get someone else to do it.

  • Oh so it's a 3e-e motor , k thnx .

  • hi , i have a question , what type engine is that on ur tercel?

  • @MazdaArai It is a 1.5 L engine

  • great video thank you,

  • This clutch setup hasn't changed for a 100 years..Why do you think that is? Something I just don't get is....When everything is rotating and you make a gear change..(push the clutch pedal in) the momentum of the wheels on the ground are turning the gears in the gearbox and the engine is turning the clutch assembly at different speeds.....Why is it so EASY to change/engage gears?

  • @commentnotapproved1 Somethings are better left unsaid... :P lmao i was wonderin tht 2 one day

  • under torqued

  • Thanks for this video. It aided me in replacing my first clutch in my girl friends car. The car runs great with its new clutch. Thanks Again

  • Thanks for this video. It aided me in replacing my first clutch in my girl friends car. The runs great now due to your video on replacing a clutch for a toyota tercel. Thanks Again

  • the pilot tool u mentioned, isn't that to center the clutch disc as much as possible so you won't have a hard time installing the transmission. You center the clutch disc then torque it down. just by watching the vid the disc look a bit off. But every mechanic has their own way of doing this. Good job though!

  • @olivesyo I think it is the camera angle that made it look off center everything did lined perfectly.

  • really good video, would my Honda Civic Si be the same repair, removal and install?

  • @63echo Most front wheel drive cars will be quite similar to this.

  • hey great job was wondering when i did the clutch i was told you shold clean the bell housing out complete so it doesnt contaminate the insides using brake cleaner is that true ????cheers

  • @fastvpbt1 If it is very oily i would

  • @fastvpbt1

The bell housing? is this the part where you replaced the small bearing, the massive bit you lowered down on the jack?

  • Really good walkthrough video indeed. Thank you very much for your time and sharing the info. Open source is the way to go. Keep it up!

  • Great video; I have a question: How many distance should be between the Pressure Plate Spring arrows, deep to the clutch disc border of splines; when I bolt my Pressure Plate, it is a ONE INCH deep between them, but I forgot to measure how was from factory when I removed it, and that is my worry about it?

  • @josiqvideos09 I am not sure i follow

  • @richpin06a My fear becomes even worst, it was not about the PPspring to disc splines to worry about it, IT was about how far in, or near out, the pressure plate cover reached after using a Double Diaphragm mod, with 6puck racing disc. I shimmed the PP with two washer, but so height, that when I turn engine on, the PP drill the surface of the Transmission side, even the Presurre Plate was brushed metal; all that because the PP was too out from the engine side...

  • Would it be different replacing the clutch on a Toyota base sedan 4 door 1991?

  • @23Kite Should be the same.

  • Great video. Is it OK to reuse the gear oil that was drained in the container?

  • @mikemustbebored Yes in most cases it should be find.If it looks dirty to you change it.

  • @mikemustbebored Never is it ok to reuse drained fluid anywhere.

  • this is a excellent video

    congratulations!!

    thanks

    good luck boys!

  • Excellent job, very detailed descriptions. I really like how you mention the head size and number of fasteners in each step.

  • just found this chanel. this guy richpin06a is awesome, i've been searcing the net for tips to change the clutch on my womans car and nothing is as detailed as this guys youtube chanel, many thanks richpin06a, from a viewer in ireland

  • @45edman Hello from Massachusetts, USA it is very cool having a viewer from Ireland i hope you enjoy my videos.

  • Hello Rich, I am a new viewer. I have friends that are Techs at my Toyota dealership, as I am just a simple lube tech right now while I go to school to be a full fledged tech. But anyways, I am going to be changing my clutch on my 92 Toyota MR2 Turbo. Is this rather similar? I am sure by the time you respond, I would have already tried to tackle it. But I was just asking if maybe you have encountered one before or not. Thanks Rich.

  • @24okay I do not see any MR2s around anymore and have never worked on one.

  • @richpin06a oh ok thanks

  • awesome subscribed!

  • thank for the video.

i have a question: why not resurface the flywheel? it is so very important for the car!

  • so would this also be the same or similar for a mitsubishi eclipse ?

  • great job

    very helpful

  • Just a couple of questions. Am I right to assume that this method does not vary too much from one Toyota to another? (97 corolla). And any idea of how long it takes to get the job done?

  • @alevadid Pretty much the same as a 97 corolla.Figure on a whole day and you should be all set.

  • Great job, Rich, thanks for posting.

  • Great Job good info.I need to pepleas my clutch on my corolla .

  • Rich, thanks a lot for your teaching. I learned a ton with your videos.

  • Oh, and Nice Vid!!!

  • I'm troubled... The throwout bearing that came with my clutch kit didn't have the tabs that the "throwout arm?" seems to clip to...

I've looked at several vids and every throwout bearing I see has them, mine is just a plain circular bearing!

And no, it's not the pilot bearing...it's too big to be....

I'm hoping it's just because it's an OLD car? (81 Honda Accord)

    Any ideas anyone?

  • Was this the 7A-FE motor by chance?

  • nice to see a video on youtube to help other.

when my friend and I did my honda del sol clutch, we were gonna make a video but neither of us had a camcorder. clutch replacement is quite easy but some people are too scared thinking they might do something wrong. in the end car work is really easy, its just knowing how......

  • Good detailed information. Good job.

  • very helpful i am going to replace my clutch for a sport one and upgrade to a 5 speed transmission from a paseo great vid man keep them comming

  • but you do seem like a good mechanic though and I respect that as I was trying to become a mechanic myself but have found the whole thing to be extremely overwhelming int he amount of work or type of work to be done, so I am now having 2nd thoughts about it...

  • Nice video. Looked to me like the rear main was leaking? I like the way all your clutch kits in the states come with a friction plate aligning tool, great idea. We don't get that here in Australia. Thanks for the upload.

  • Awesome vid. How many labor hours is this? The only thing I would hate is remembering where everything goes, dealing with rusted bolts, stripped bolts, stuff that doesn't want to go back on.

  • you're obviously a jerk.

  • Billiance indeed. Thanks for shareing. Much more entertaining than watching something mindless about Michael Jackson, or whatever else might be mind-numbingly popular.

  • you can become a partner and get paid for your brilliance! you have over 700 subscribers you should apply

  • The Saturn will be quite similar.

  • Thanks Rich. I always wondered how much trouble it was to change a clutch on a front wheel drive. Can I assume the Saturn is about the same procedure?

  • @richpin

great video. good lighting, good sound, great amount of relevant info.

Your video has reached england now!

I am replacing a micra clutch.

Can I ask what light and what camera was used?

Is it the light shown at the end of part 2 clutch video - is it a craftsman flourescent mains power version?

    Was video edited much?
