Rise of the robots, the worst game rental of my 25 year old life.

They don't know how to make games anymore. It's all about hype now, and getting your money. No substance, no replayablitiy, and killing franchises famous for what they were. Ridge Racer? Ruined. Tomb Raider? Ruined. Final Fantasy? Yeah, FUBAR man. Duke Nukem? DITTO. It's 2012, where's that asteroid?

The reason you can't find the character select screen is that there is no character select screen! You're right - I had this game too and as far as I'm concerned, it's the worst game I've ever played in my 28 year old life! And I've played countless numbers of games in that time!

@19elliott89 Sucks balls? I've been like 1 match away from Qualifying for evo more than a few times in other fighting games. There is very little to be good at in this game, it's terrible. I'm not saying you shouldn't like it though, I just don't really understand how you liked it

@supradoom Just decent memories :) I loved everything I played, was only a kid when I played on a Sega Mega Drive, and ain't touched one since. Though I did see one for sale, they were wanting £50 for it with a free Sonic game. I was half tempted just for old kicks!! :D I loved every game I played on the SMD!

You know, its funny. Being 28, I can remember everything about 1994 and can remember pretty much every game from that year even obscure ones, from the 3DO MK ripoff "Way of The Warrior" to Brutal,Aero The Acrobat and even the dogshit Rapjam Vol 1. But I can't REMEMBER this game!I don't recall a single thing about Rise of the Robots, maybe for good reason.

In it's defense, some of the songs were really awesome. and the graphics and robots were pretty awesome for the time. Gameplay though... dog shit.

meh... good point I guess. But then again, I was sorta.... young when i played this game. Like 11 years old young. And the version I had (the PC version) had a power meter, where you would hold the attack button to increase the damage. The sequel to this game is not nearly as bad, but still... the problem remains the same: graphics > gameplay. Damn shame too.

i made it till the last robot but i couldn't beat it. it's the shortest game i ever played with only 3 levels if i remember well, and it's the hardest game. i have the game for 10 years i gues and till now i dind't finished it. good luck with the game mate. you'll need it! :)
