  • An amazing bit of in medias res reflection by a young singer-songwriter, on the absurdity of rock renown. The truly great line is, "And, in a week or two, when you make the charts, the girls will tear you apart." How funny it is to imagine this literally.

  • Clarence didn't get the message. The band is supposed to be playing "Rock and Roll Star" right now, but he's "Eight Miles High."

  • The Beards!

  • The Charles Manson Band. LOL

  • good to see them again after all these years, not keen on this song, but glad to get the share, thank you

  • @deadwoodgulch - will ferrell. - no really, if youd watch the video it says at 1:08 that its some guy name jimmy seiter. never heard of him.

  • Clarence White is THE SHIT!!!

  • @mrJimCharles Yes SIR !!!!

  • in the version of "mr. jones" by the counting crows, he opens the song with these first four lines. it sounds very good.

  • I so hate Roger Mcguinn for hijacking this band

  • @clickswitchh awwh, no matter how hard you try, you cant hate Roger.

  • "Just get an electric guitar, and take some time and learn how to play..."

  • Great fuckin' vocals !

  • he looks like the dude with a suit on

  • More tec today, more powerfull today and catchy then before but still remains some wierd sound.

  • counting crows mr jones

  • saw this video when mtv played videos who remembers closet classics

  • I thinks this is the best version of this music.

  • I AGREE!

The original version has a lack of "power".

The sound is more 70s and it's better!

  • Clarence White is so stoned here.Skip has a plastic winged bat hanging from the top of his guitar strings. These guys are seriously jammin'out here.

    LOVE THIS!!! ; )

  • long live the Byrds

  • This song sounds a little different than the original; but it's still good.

  • yes Roger McGuinn is the main byrds guy...I guess he changed his look a bit for the early 70's

  • What was the guy's name that wore those dark sun glasses in the 60's?

  • same guy - roger mcguinn

  • That's him? What in the world happened to his voice

His hair looks a lot darker in that video than it did in the 60's. That beard is a perfect disguise for someone who wants to go in cognito; I never would have recognized him.

  • Beards were big in the popularity sense in the early 70s think of George Harrison, Bob Dylan, all of those guitar bands of the US South - get the picture

  • I wish I could grow a beard

  • @PageandPlant4Life I have a beard, it grows on me whether I like it or not and perhaps it is a good thing as all things living are good things, peace brother, may the force be with you...

  • @weenyone I always wanted a beard like that - then ZZ Top and Yoko Ono arrived and I lost the will to stop shaving :¬( I hear the beards split from the band eventually appearing in 'HAIR' ... The Byrds, we'll never see spectacular guitar work and amazing songs like those again ...

  • @progjazzfusion Actually it was Jim McGuinn, at least at first

  • I think the acid, weed and coke helped with the change in James Joseph "Roger" McGuinn's look.

  • The guy singing in the video; is one of the original memebers?

  • Who's the guy singing with the beard?

  • I think that's roger mcguinn

  • cooooooooooool video

  • thanks v much for posting this. A great TV performance in my opinion. Aren't too many performances of this quality. Its got that 'edge' about it.
