  • i love iron giant!!!!(:

  • Ring a ring o' roses is about the black plague because the sores that the black plague victims had were the ring a ring o' roses, and posies were like a bag of scented flowers that people carried in their pockets because they thought it would stop you getting the plague. And the all fall down bit was when everyone died. Fairy tales are actually really depressing. :L

  • @MissRawrDinosaur it's not the black plague, it's the bubonic plague. unless there the same thing, but i don't know.

  • "WHO WEARS SHORT SHORTS !"

  • yeah it is about the black plague its an English nursery rime from the Victorian times, poesy or noes gay were like scented flowers and the Victorians believed disease was spread by bad smells :) the rhym is :

    Ring a-ring o' roses,

    A pocketful of posies.

    a-tishoo!, a-tishoo!.

    We all fall down.

thats how its meant to say but the Canadians changed it to ashes ashes representing the burning bodies which is what you American guys also know today! :)

  • Blues brothers meets bill and ted. and as far as robot movies, ne one mention Short Circuit"? that's movies great

  • Ring Around the Rosey is not about the Holocaust. It was about the black plague. Ring around the rosey- When you had the black plague you'd have circles on your body. Pocket full of posey's- Posey is a flower that people would keep in their pocket to put against their noses to block out the smell. People were dying too fast to bury them so they were in the streets stinking. Ashes, Ashes we all fall down- Of course is when the dead were being burned.

  • Ring around the rosey is actually from the Holocaust.

  • You really stumped Mitchell. Lmao

  • i think "ring around the rosey" is about jewish kids during WW2 lol

  • "quote from this video." LOL

  • watched iron giant today :)

  • ring around the rosie( plague speading)

  • Humpy dumpty had something to do with Through the Looking Glass. There's a line that sayas

'you look like an egg" i think Humpty Dumpty was like based on that or something, i'm not really sure

  • Is that a jean shirt? I think you can pull it off... Which is something to be proud of. maybe.. I don't know.

  • Ricky Gervais had a whole sketch about Humpty Dumpty, it is hilarious.

  • Blues Brothers meets Humpty Dumpty meets Olive Garden meets Will Smith.

    Yesss.

  • the original song ends like this "... pocket full of posies, a tissue a tissue, we all drop dead." so i've heard.

  • iRobot was really deep, man.

  • Nice beatles in the background

  • blues brothers meets dumb and dumber.

  • blues brothers meets wayne's world!

  • glasses = blues brothers meets men in black

  • k, well "ring around the rosies" is technically about any pluge and posies are posinus so henceforth the neam

also it went from village to village and the burned everything the person owned even him/her if they were dead

i only know this because im a pre med at oxford university

  • so i was doing some research, and luckly Humpty Dumpty is actualy not a person (though people do refer to the story as an obese person which i assume is how he came to be an egg?) Humpty Dumpty was actualy a connon used durring the english civil war that they sat on a city wall surroundining the city of Colchester to protect the people of the city. The cannon was hidden by the St. Marys Curch that sat right outside of th wall. The church was destroyed and so was the cannon & so they surenderd

  • Ok, So the song goes

"Ring around the rosie, pockets full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all fall down"

This is what I HEARD about it, not sure if its true or not

But Ring around the rosie is talking about how the plague appeared in circles.

Pockets full of posies, as in, they believed if they had posies in their pockets they wouldn't get affected,

and ashes ashes, I think means that they got burned alive to prevent the disease from spreading? And then they all fall down. O.O

  • I noticed that about Humpty Dumpty about a year ago. Creepy. Also, rock a bye baby? Who's putting babies in trees? And then the baby dies.

  • Yeah, nursery rhymes scare me too. I mean "Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub"....who the freak thinks of this stuff?

  • they had little pouches with flowers in them cause they thought it'd save them from the plague, well... it didn't... so.. "they all fall down!"

  • Humpty Dumpty was actually a riddle from the 1800's. The people had to guess what Humpty Dumpty was.

  • Blues brothers meets jim carey :)

  • I did a research project on the black plague and heard that's what the rhyme was about also!

  • I think Humpty Dumpty is just traditionally about an egg. Kind of teaching the lesson that you can't undo a mistake or something like that... I don't know. Now I'm all curious, dagnabit.

  • "The riddle probably exploited, for misdirection, the fact that "humpty dumpty" was also eighteenth-century reduplicative slang for a short and clumsy person."

    well theres thaaaaaaaaat

  • iron giant is the shit btw.

  • hahaha that was so funny. i never realized it didnt say it was about an egg

  • Where are you guys driving to all the time?

  • In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins is actually about he and his then wife's divorce.

  • i know its too late but, my fave robot movies:

    terminator movies.

uhhh....that one with robin willams. lol

and i forget the rest. :( it's 5am and im havg a hard time thinking.

oh! and i dont know what humpty dumpty is about. BUT i know that ricky gervais's joke about him jumping of the wall because he has the name "humpty" is hilarious. :)

  • @sarahasADD OH is that movie with robin williams the one where hes the robot butler?

  • @andy1855 uhhh yeah i think so.

its called bicenntenial man. i googled it lol

    :)

  • Most nursey rhymes are based on true stories, some were also created/written for the king and queens entertainment and in some ways based on real things. Got told that while getting a blood test. (:

  • I swear we have the same car but I can't realllly tell and it's driving me insane!

In all the videos of you two driving i don't think you ever say what kind it is

  • Humpty Dumpty is actually from the original Alice in Wonderland. Random fact.

&&&& humpty dumpty is most deffffinitly and egg that falls and gets cracked, hahahaha.

  • i went to olive garden today... thought u should no

  • I really love those sunglasses. Very early 90's haha

  • hahaha ring around the rosie IS about the black death. posies (the flowers) were believed back then to be one of the things that people believed help immunize themselves from the bubonic plauge. ashes ashes we all fall down is talking about how they burned the bodies so no one else would catch the plauge. gotta love what we learn in religion class at catholic school :DD

  • isnt humpty dumpty a riddle???

  • WIKIPEDIA HUMPTY DUMPTY:).

  • i love it when ppl make fun of transformers and i love transformers

btw, transformer is actually a classic... just saying :3

  • humpty dumpty was just a childs lie about breaking somthing that got seriously out of hand...

  • Blues Brothers meets the hipster era.

  • they wear those sunglasses because they got stoned you don't talk about humpty dumpy and then get eat olive garden sober

  • @SpazedGamer yes you do.... well, you do if you have respect for yourself

  • @kylesnexusone It was mostly a joke

  • @SpazedGamer I'm with Kyle:) Isn't that the point of having a best friend? So you can talk about the crazy things you're actually thinking about with and not feel awkward?

  • Humpty Dumpty was a cannon which fell of a castle wall

  • one of my friends told me this..."Humpty Dumpty was originally a riddle in which the answer was egg. I am doing some older nursery rhymes and read about it. That's why he is an egg."

  • weird...Humpty Dumoty. Who said he as an egg? I never thought of that.

  • Mitchell is so excited to go to Olive Garden.. LOL!

  • :B You know those big mask things with the sort of bird beak? Those were used during the plague and the doctors would stuff the beak part with different herbs and flowers, yes for the smell, but mainly because it would partially protect them from contracting the plague themselves.

  • The story about ring around the rosie is when you got the black plauge a ring formed on your wrist and you become pinkish color. The pocket full of posie refers to either (i can't remember which) the people putting flowers in their pockets because the plague makes you smell real bad or they would put flowers with the people who died because there were so many corpses laying around and they didn't know what to do with them. They all fall down is just saying you can die at any moment.

  • blues brothers meets... moses

  • WINNER for listening to John Lennon

  • @treesaregreenandblue and in the original sleeping beauty, the prince rapes her then leaves before she wakes up

  • wow i never picked up on that humpty dumpty not actually named as an egg!

    mind.BLOWN!!!

  • I have this book and it has all this wierd random information in it. It also has stuff about nursery rhymes, so i thought i'd type it. But it wont fit so I guess not ahah. But the humpty dumpty one is...

Humpty Dumpty was a huge cannon used in the English Civil War (1642-49). The wall it sat on was damaged in crossfire and Humpty Dumpty fell to the ground. The cannon was so heavy that the soldiers were unable to put it 'together again'.

I think I prefer the egg version. (:

  • The 1st time Humpty Dumpty was pictured as an egg was when Lewis Carrol (the author of Alice in Wonderland) drew him as an egg.

  • (x this made my dayy. I don't really know why,it was just...i don't knowww. But thank you guyss:)

  • i looove olives garden!!!

  • All yall are dumb. Humpty Dumpty is CLEARLY about the civil war.

  • Humpty Dumpty was actually about like the "red coats" and some guy they tried to make fall off a wall? XD I read it like 3 years ago .__.

    it's something like that ^-^'

  • Humpty Dumpty is actually a ris=ddle. Him being an egg is the answer, so people pretty much give it away every single time they put it in a picture book.

  • OMG!! IRON GIANT IS THE SHITTTT O.O

  • If you see all my "Disnification" stuff....please say something so I do not feel like I wasted time hahaha

  • "Disnification" is where I think the egg idea came from

I believe it was acctually about a kid.

  • I talked to some friends about old english stories compared to current versions.

It is acctaully very different in "The Little Mermaid" original, while the little mermaid is "getting legs" the guy she falls in love with falls in love with someone else. The only two options the once mermaid has left are to kill herself or to find the man KILL HIM AND RUB HIS BLOOD ON HER LEGS so she gets her tail back.

In Cinderella the wicked stepsisters eyes are pulled out by crows...

    "Disnification"

  • @treesaregreenandblue i actually have the hardcopy of the original little mermaid. its actually so depressing.

  • thumbs up if u laughed from 2:21 - 5:08

  • Ring a ring a rosies - red circles from black plague

pocket full of possies - they thought if you smelt lowers, you wouldn't inhale the plague

ashes ashes we all fall down - people died

I just spelt the words like they sounded, so idk if they're accurate :')

  • The Black Plague first hit western Europe in 1347. And the first print of "Ring Around the Rosie" was in Kate Greenaway's Mother Goose or The Old Nursery Rhymes in 1881. If it really is about the Black Plague, why didn't someone, for over 5 centuries, write it down? Now with a change of subject, what about Rock-a-bye baby? Rock a bye baby, in the treetop, When the wind blows, the cradle will rock, When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall,

And down will come baby, cradle and all. Pretty creepy

  • The ring around a rosy is actually based on the black plaque.

  • @Aleclieu he said tht in the video..lol.

  • short circuit or short circuit 2?? kind of hilarious they were so bad. idk if eagle eye counts, but that one was a mess.

  • @dramatizetheworld what short circuit was awesome! the second one.. not so much.

  • @teheehe i've actually only seen the second one (i think) and i thought it was rather hilarious...but sooooo cheesy. only cuz they're old but that's what makes them so great.

  • @dramatizetheworld exactly! i love cheesy films like short circuit! but if u havent seen the first one, go and get it! its better then the second. i think its a classic older movie. haha. but thats just me.

  • omg iMiss iron giant sooooooo much

  • i say egg like that! =3 ayyg! ^_^ haha

  • It was originally a riddle, so the egg part wasn't explicitly stated.

  • I thought of Iron Giant but I couldn't remember the name of it.

  • Aww...now I want to watch The Iron Giant. *checks netflix* YES! It's available for instant play if anyone has netflix, or wants to watch.

  • Modest Mouse! XD

  • "We're going to Olive Garden, we're going to Olive Garden, we're going to Olive Garden, YEAHYEAHYEAH!" lol, child at heart.

  • Comment removed

  • @SoRandomTeHe My history teacher told us that in 6th grade, I only remember part of it..thanks for writing it all :d

  • the song in the background for like the first two minutes- I was literally just playing that the second before I watched this video. crazy.

  • FUCK CRACKER BARREL

  • i love olive garden (: goshh, im jealous, and now im hungry, haa.

  • ring around the roise is about the plague. "ring around the roise" is a red rash that they would get "pocket full of posies" is because back in those days they didnt shower so the put flowers in their pockets to smell good i forgot what "ashes ashes" is suppose to mean annd "we all fall down" is when they die from it. i think my history teacher told us in 9th grade :)

  • @Danielalaish ashes ashes was because the number of bodies was so great they burned most of the corpses crowding the streets.

  • I had a little bird

    It's name was Enza

    I opened the window

    and In Flew Enza!

    O.O

  • To finish it, yall look like Blues Brothers meets Michael Cera...?

  • Now I'm only up to 1:47 But it goes 'Ring-a-ring-a rosie a pocket full of posies a tissue a tissue we all fall down' And my literature teacher told me it was about the black plague in grade 8. Well come to think of it it could be a different version considering I'm all the way in Australia and you're in America... But still.

  • @MassacreAtMe I've never heard of that version before, but I do live in Canada. But it is said the "ashes ashes" part represents when they burned the bodies to prevent the spread of the plague.

  • @SmexiCrystal

Fair enough. That's just the version I've been taught my whole life so this one's new. There's no right or wrong answer just different versions :)

  • @MassacreAtMe A tissue, a tissue??? Man, you really are foreign.

  • @w00tkid

As I said I'm Australian it's not that foreign.

  • in the air tonight by the almighty phil collins is thought to be about him witnessing someone drown and he doesn't save them but its really about his divorce :)

  • blues brothers meet the breakfast club.

  • @RadioRhi007 yes!

  • @RadioRhi007 that would be amazing!

  • OMG! Read The Grimm Brothers and Hans Christian Andersen fairy tells, They will fuck you up old school.

  • yeah! i put iron giant on my list :D

    and also the nursery rhyme:

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet,

    Eating her curds and whey;

there came a big spider and sat down beside her,

    and scared miss muffet away.

was about Mary Stuart who sat down as the queen of Scotland and then later John Knox "sat down beside her" and after political issues she ran to her cousin Queen Elizabeth in England (i read this in my history book. it also talks about the three blind mice nursery rhyme)

  • People say it's an egg I guess because when you read the story in a book i remember the picture was an egg soooo yaa

  • It was actually originally a riddle...the egg is the answer to the riddle. Basically the spoiler has been passed down for generations.

  • Olive Garden. I approve. Got my sub. :D

  • I hear so much john lennon when you guys are in the car, it makes me happy.

  • wasn't "london bridge is falling down" about a cheating wife that was meeting her lover on the bridge or something?

  • @washbootie No, it's about the fall of London. Like, the Fall of the Queen...

  • 1:20 wasn't that Ring Around the Rosy?

  • Iron Giant is one of the best movies ever. I've always wished that sundaes looked like they do in that movie. So delicious....

  • i totally learned the roses ashes black plague thing in social studies ahh stupid fruit... sorry

  • For some reason I love these car vlogs. lol.

  • Humpty dumpy is actually a story about how a king in the 17th century didn't respect his joker/entertainer ( Humpty dumpty) so the joker, feeling humiliated, committed suicide by jumping off the castle wall. The king had actually loved his joker very much so when found the joker, he did everything he could to save him but the joker ended up dying. Sad ending...

P.S. I made all that up. Sounds pretty good right

  • @MrJbdizzle

    whoa!!

when i was reading it i was like oh that makes sense lmao

i totally would have believed u if u didn't say u made it up lol man i feel so gullible now

  • @MrJbdizzle You'd do really well at the board game Balderdash. :)
