  • thanks for the solid down to earth information- and keeping it simple and fun

  • Something surprising to me was that you were vertically jigging in as little as 5 feet of water. You would think that fish would be spooked by the boat directly over them.

  • Good video!

  • if u want to jig fish do u put chicken on it haha fishin fo nigers

  • Right in the top of the face!hahaha

  • what size of jig is that? what brand also? great video

  • Hey, i live in Oregon, and love to fish down out my bout house, but i'm not sure how to bass fish so thanks for such a great video. My water tempature is around 45-50 degrees is that too cold to fish for bass??

  • your video is very informative. thank you for the tips.

  • i need a GIANT hook to impale 2 non bass fisherman!!

  • 2:26 false hit lol and he trys to play it off. thats why the camera cut to him actually catching the fish. nice way to hide it though, but i can here his pole dragging in the water. what fisherman drags his pole in the water when he catches a fish? lmao

  • @jhendrix7911 oh thats cool what channel are you on? cause you obviously know more then this professional...

  • what is the best bait to use around fall and winter

  • I use a 71/2 foot custom Bass Pro Shops ultra-lite with a Shimano Sahara 750fb reel, and 4 lb test for this style of fishing. I get more feel, better casts, and the drag on the Shimano is silky-smooth for the larger fish. Small mouth in the Ky river and it's tributaries are very spooky. That bait casting rig is not sensitive enough , and the line is too heavy for the best presentation with a small jig in clear, cold water conditions.

  • the fish are getting sucked into your fake delivery

  • this guys new name is the pizza man lol good video man

  • thanks man, i like it

  • lol i like it when people say its small and it looks big to me haha

  • 3:29 is the best hookset in the history of hooksets....it just looks bad ass, cause he throws his leg up.

  • ima go jig fishing tommorw good thing i wached this vid

  • I don't get it. I went to Canada a couple weeks ago and whenever I used a jig, I snagged. I bounced it along the bottom, but I got snagged everytime. Our boat was anchored so I do not know if that had anything to do with my problem. Any suggestions?

  • you were probably jigging it in weeds or around structure that you were getting snagged on. try jigging around on rock piles like he is doing.

  • if youre getting snagged use weedless jigs or a weighted texas rig. i get snagged on the river alot fishing with a 3/4 oz jighead but sometimes getting snagged for a couple minutes isnt so bad. ive ripped my jigs out of snags and got big bass off reaction bites

  • so your just feeling for a thump or does it get heavy and how do u feel for those things?? please reply and thank you

  • a thump

  • for me it feels like you're stuck

  • if ur bouncing the jig on the bottom, ull just feel like that inch of bottom that ur bouning on is gone.

  • nice fish, Im from MN and got a 20'" ice fishing.

  • Just south of Jacksonville Illinois at a city lake called Roodhouse lake

  • Good video. Where you fishing at? I live in Iowa and its cold now, so thanks for the tips!

  • how many inches and pounds was the big one

  • about 5.5 lbs at maybe 20 inches I dont remember for sure was about a year ago

  • great vid, ive been looking to start jig fishing real soon so it helped me alot

  • I just started fishing jigs this summer. Never had confidence in them. One think I can tell you is dont rush it and give up! I started out small with a 5/16 ounce black and blue booyah baby boo and I went from there. Now even on the coldest days I know I can catch fish consistently on jigs! Get your own feel for how you like to work the jig and you will be suprised how versitile they are. Good Luck!

  • what size/action rod is preferred for 1/2oz jigging?

  • 6 1/2 or 7 footer med-heavy in winter or colder season. Heavy rods just seem to lose some feeling on real cold days. Heavy works well 3 seasons of the year but in winter the action ond vibration through the line to the rod just isnt there.

  • are you droping your casting

  • yes, most of the time, occassionally Ill flip it out to keep the line twist out.

  • ever thought of using a heavyer jig and fan casting you will cover more water instead of an up and down retreive

  • awesome video ! just gettin into jigging so appreciate the info. this video made my day n im goin fishin

  • I got a Question, how can u tell if u got a fish when ur reeling in?? Or if its weeds

  • When u get a fish when ur reeling u feel more tention and a yank, unless its big then u'll get drag

  • nothing like winter fishing in my oppinion.

    espialy with ajig

  • nice lunker!

  • over 60 fish 10 feet shallower under 60 deeper

colors vary but blk and blu 1/4 to 1/2 should be a good start

  • right now im fishing a very cold lake what should i use, and what color??

  • Good video for the people. I thought you got stung on that first fish lol,, The last bass might have went 4 1/2 good tourny fish I got me a 8lb female on the beds this morning on an over sized crank bait, man you gotta love the spring! Best of fishing the Informative Fisherman

  • Whats the rod and line specs. and whats your favorite jig to do this with

  • depends on lots of things give an instace your refering to.

  • so uh im not much of a jig fishermen but so if u do use jigs are trailers needed

  • Ive heard vertical jigging for largemouth but never tried it.I live down in South Carolina and we only have about three really cold water months.Ill for sure give that a try.

  • If you know a few good deeper spots, wait till the cold months and hit your spots. Saves a bunch of searching time.

  • Thanks for the info.cant wait to go fishin,im goin for my 16 birthday, gunna use a jig to. It;s my favorite bait
