@mojostrat58 You owe it to yourself to check one out live in person. With all respect to the "Dude" the sound on this video really doesn't do the Jaguar Junior justice..
@mojostrat58 Hey Mojo, you really should check this amp out in person... the "Dude's" audio on this video really doesn't do the Jaguar Junior justice.
Why do neighbors hate amplifiers?? Those tone hating bastards. My Mesa Boogie MK1 thinks I don't love her any more, she's jealous of the Line 6 pod. The Jag sounds like a great Stones amp with that British but Fendery tone. How's the intonation on the strat?
A ross fame 2 series model ten amp, gives a much better performance and only for £10 at a boot sale they are a little bit more maybe £40 tops, so people out there, my advise is get a little fame ten, much better price, but it must have the tube blaster drive switch to give it that jaguar sound.
That sounds a lot like a amp my son and I scavenged from an old victor real to real. Probably not the exact circuit but really does sound like that. What kind of speaker is it driving?
Any time you create more surface area, which coiled cables do, your going to be creating more potential for rf noise even if they are properly shielded. They might be alright for live gigs but I wouldn't use them for recording.
Isn't that a 8 ohm G12H30 speaker? I noticed you had the impedence selector set to 16 ohms. Do you prefer the tonal signature of the mismatched impedance over stock?
The cost of parts on the Jag Junior would be under $1,000 for sure. The extra $1500 is for labor and the word 'boutique'. That's a pretty hefty price, in my opinion.
@snoopjmcd Consider how much work goes into handwiring an amp to this standard, this guy won't be getting rich building amps, believe me. You also need to consider business overheads and running costs.
@TeleCustom72 I know how much work it takes, since I'm building an amp right now. There are equally nice sounding amps that cost less, so the potential buyer has lots to consider besides the overhead at Jag amps.
@snoopjmcd But consider doing this for a living - its easy to make an amp thats comparable as a hobbyist or on a part time basis, but try doing it as your main income and you soon see why these amps are priced as they are - I build amps for a living and know this through experience.
GMD - get a Allen Accomplice and give us a shoot out between the super-expensive Jag, mid-range Allen, and budget-friendly Blues Jr. Should I send you my Allen for said shoot out?
I just don't want to dish out the dough? The extra $1000? You are ridiculous, Corman247. Maybe that's not a lot to you. But you know, to the real, non-Jaguar affiliated people out there, I would just emphasize that gear is nice, but its all about the left and the right hand. Too much effort focused on gear; not enough on your hands. Anything can sound rocking if you are rocking. Anything can sound like crap the other way around. You don't need to spend.
fucking owned, your my hero. (even tho i am a person to buy good gear to make my playing sound better) but i think that 2500 is more than i will ever spend <3 ^^
Jaguar are very impressive amps. I own the Twin Jag, that I love
