  • Please can you make some videos where you perform those drills but very slow?

  • kali=panantukan that's it.

  • Here's a question for people in the know about kali: I have a rather odd situation with my hands in that I can't create a flat fist. My index finger second knuckle protudes past my other knuckles in such a way that a "traditional" jab (or karate-style punch) is impossible (I hit with the index finger knuckle before anything else). I've limited myself to wing chun because of this (the vertical fist). Is it even physically possible for me to train in kali?

  • @kungfuman82 of course not, and you can even adapt your strikes to hit with the palm or vertical fist like WC or even a back fist, what you did is very good

  • Fact: "Modern Boxing" is derived from Filipino martial arts, without it, boxing would still be 2 guys standing in the same spot jabbing at each other for the entire fight

  • outstanding! Love the elbow/knee combo! Thanks for putting this together guys.

  • nice movement!

  • 4 people got beef with some Fillipinos.cool video=favourite!

  • What i like about this arts is that they don't just stick to the classical slip and dodging like western boxing, they stick more like slip counter counter again break limb kick to the inside of the leg kick the groin and that's a basic!! haha

  • IMHO. MMA is cool and all, but if you bring a martial art like Eskrima into MMA it looses it's purpose.

  • @Nikko1Brown no it wouldn't, MMA is trying to re-invent the fight world, add Filipino martial arts into it and everything would have to adapt and change re-inventing fighting as we see it

  • @chablehh except fma is not a sport.

  • @Nikko1Brown unless you're in the northern Philippines, or if you do simple modifications to some FMA then it is simple and effective

  • @chablehh i guess i just don't like seeing arts getting watered down. you think the muay thai they do in the UFC is actually the real muay thai besides the exception of some fighters.

  • @Nikko1Brown I don't like watching the Nerfed arts either, and Muay Thai is extremely watered down, except by Anderson, his is pretty natural.

  • @chablehh agreed!

  • Cool stuff @RDraGon2170 advice in support of your comments just enter into MMA. thats the whole purpose is to bring Mixed Martial Arts together. Alot of J.K.D. style too even though J.K.D. itself is an MMA form the first formal MMA Colmernation

  • Is there sparring in Panantukan?

  • No one art has all the answers and that's why people are mixing & cross-training.It's nothing new.The Greeks and others did this thousands of years ago. They adapted to the tactics that the enemy was using. It was a matter of survival. Not BS MA politics!

  • I'd like to add that if there is anyone out there from the MMA dominated schools who

doubts the effectiveness of FMA then try sparring against a guy who has a rattan

stick or training knife.See how well you fair in a no hold barred match.

  • Kali,Escrima,Arnis,FMA,is some serious war craft! Anyone who doubts it has never

    faced a knife or stick in a "real fight".All I can say R E S P E C T!!!!

  • @dutch04 my footwork is impeccable, i usually choose to stay tight inside (as im a shorter guy at only 5'7) denying my aggressor room to move while loading up heavy body shots to the ribs and kidneys, i can create the openings i need and because i've done it so many times under extreme pressure in the ring, i can replicate it if im fronted up on the street. And if i need to i can play the long game as well and work behind a fast snappy jab. Its brutally effective.

  • how i wish the filipino government would put this in high school curriculum...

  • god job, congratulations

  • me likes :D

  • Very Impressive demo!

  • what is the best FIGHT-ART ??? this, karate...? :

  • its funny when people say, "thats wrong, if you do x, ill just do y and hurt you". you can never be invincible in a fight, even when your fighting against an untrained guy. im not a panantukan guy but i see that it helps you hit your opponents better while minimizing damage.

  • @innonni why not just do normal conventional boxing? you dont have to aste time blokcing punches because your footwork and bobbing and weaving technique will be amazing and your punches will be 110% more fluid l. Boxing and Muay Thai are THE premier striking arts and i wouldnt swap them for something unproven in REAL FIGHTING. I dare someone to provide me with proof that Kali etc works? yeah yeah Muay thai and boxing has rules..but we leave those in the ring when were on the street.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer UNPROVEN? Can you PLEASE research first about eskrima before you spout of such bullshit? Eskrima is the reason why the Spaniards never fully occupied mindanao, it is one of the fighting styles of the moros who fought the americans, who has to invent the fucking .45 just to kill the tribesmen quickly.

    Thats REAL FIGHTING.

  • @innonni I mean seriously....anyone can do two ma drills....but the fact is ...., Filipino Kali/eskrima/arnis etc etc practitioners always say "its for real fighting on the street in real life " and then accuse Sports based systems such as muay thai & boxing being ineffective because they are based on rules. Im not being funny but even a 4 year old can tell the difference between REAL and PLAY..in our case..RING and STREET. When it comes to real life..we leave the rules in the ring.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer Look, there's a reason why military and policemen over there train kali instead of boxing: it works better for this kind of situation. That's my modern proof.

Histroyically, Kali has been proven that it works just fine against guns, melee weapons and hand-to-hand combat.

So, there you go, history and present day prove Kali a greater street and war martial art over boxing, because in war you'll find people with helmets: not good for your knuckles.

  • @innonni Drills ....2 man or otherwise...do NOT make an efficient fighter....the common argument of "its builds muscle memory reflex" becomes MOOT when you consider that sports based combat athletes (thai boxers again etc) perform DRILLS to build the same reflexes...on pads, heavy bags..AND in live sparring..its called PRESSURE TESTING and FACING AN ADDRENALIN DUMP...and THAT is what makes Muay Thai far more practical in my opinion...you leanr to HIT hard..and also TAKE A SHOT BACK and not fold

  • @LCStreetPhotographer YOUR opinion, not mine. And Im not an idiot to say that Muay Thai and other martial arts are only effective in rings, I never said that. And dont you have anything else to do besides FORCE YOUR OPINION ON THREE FUCKING REPLIES?! cmon man, grow up. I think eskrima's more effective, you think Muay Thai's more effective then FINE, fuck off.

  • @innonni dude, I think he made some very good points. I think that: 1) your desire to argue and be 100% winning the argument has closed your eyes to this. His point on adrenaline dumping (for one) is very true. 2) your dismissive arguments such as saying he needs to "grow up" and curse him out show only that you need todo so yourself. 3) Space for replies can sometimes be too short on youtube. 4) just link to the guy to something that's in a real life or sparring scenario. 5)... just kidding

  • @innonni never mind, I completely missed his first post about the unproven stuff haha. He is dumb.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer jeez man what crawled up your ass and died. Personally i hate people like you who say that a martial art will not work and it is better to practice a different one. i mean i do capoeira and i am sick and tired of people like you who say my martial art is not worth anything in a fight. you want proof?

    type 'capoeira 20 second knockout"

It is foolish to say that a certain martial art is not good in a fight and to change to a different one.

    MO MARTIAL ART IS USELESS

  • @innonni so says a history book. Show me some real footage of it working and i mean EFFECTIVELY WORKING. Fact is its always shown using half speed drills where the guy demonstrating knows whats coming at him and can pre plan. Sorry but ya just dont get those kindsa timeouts in boxing, muay thai and K1 which are all PROVEN in the ring. The "but they are sports this escrima/panantukan/kali etc etc is for "da streetz" is bull.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer Ahh finally. Can't believe it took you five months to do so.

  • @innonni indeed.

  • @innonni hehe, pay no attention to this LCStreetPhotographer.. he needs proof that FMA is effective?? Hmm lemme see.. getting walloped upside the temple with a stick or stabbed in the throat with a knife. um, i'd say that's pretty effective. This is the same guy who, in another FMA video, says he'd use his devastating muay thai against a knife attacker. Let's see, unarmed vs armed, in close quarters. Complete mook.

  • @innonni also the reason Marines are called "leathernecks" because the tribesmen would always slit their throats so they had to wear leather on their necks

  • @innonni moros didn't use eskrima, they used mindinao silat. get your facts right

  • @copypacercopypacer so i see.

  • @innonni MOROS USED SILAT NOT ESKRIMA

  • @LCStreetPhotographer Murder is illegal and Kali is well proven on the battle field. There is a reason Navy Seal Teams train in Kali. I suggest you learn the knife until then you wont understand how most of what you see done in the ring will just get you killed. Things like standing in front of your opponent and trading shots with him or even worse training to stand in place and take a hit. Good grief, it amazes me how little sport fighters understand about martial arts!

  • @LCStreetPhotographer BTW I'm not knocking Muay Thai as it is has some great tools and techniques as in thier kicks and elbows. Again though your argument that ring fighting is real fighting could not be farther from the truth. I've seen plenty of ring fighting where punch after punch and kick after kick have little or no effect and the match ends in decision. Why dont you watch some Paul Vunak videos. That guy is way more qualified than me to open your eyes to the bigger picture.

  • i used this against my friends when we box for fun with gloves. they had no chance. one was a boxer and kali or this is way more effective

  • Good background music for aerobic exercise...

  • the fuck is with the music jesus christ

  • @2pacalypse25 this music is heavy with rhythm. I remember hearing a lot of heavy rhythm music in FMA class

  • elegant style

  • @MiguelCottoEsMejor fuck you. i have nothing against mexicans just you so again fuck you.

  • @policeluigi bruce lee's ass was kicked by travador ramos, a filipino kali master.

  • @Mercenary3331 thats why he learned kali from dan insanto

  • @hartranft66 so the rumors are true?

  • @Mercenary3331 No, Bruce Lee lost to him, using only Wing Chun....Way before he started studying different arts...Losing is a far distance from getting your ass kicked.

  • @JordyBT i don't care what you feel... XDD

  • wow, very good

  • filipinos= shit

  • @MiguelCottoEsLoMejor Shit is what your Boyfriend leaves in your mouth Scumbag!

  • @MiguelCottoEsLoMejor mexicans= dumb ass

  • @MiguelCottoEsLoMejor You just hate yourself because your life is = to worthless

  • If Filipino boxing ever came to mma, you would see a big change in fighting styles throughout the mma world!!!

  • @RDraGon2179

Filipino MMA Fighter Mark Munoz just defeated Chris Leben.

  • @zulfikarl Did he use Panantukan blocks and parrys to beat him?? Does he has any training in flipino styles?

  • @RDraGon2179

    Yesses. I trained him.

  • @RDraGon2179 Only that would be the realization of filipino boxers, that they can not use their fancy close range movements and drills as their assumption against a opponent in a contest under the rules of ufc or etc.

  • name of the song please.....

  • filipinos are pacific islanders

  • @raspysmile1 thank U...

  • @raspysmile1 filipinos are Asians.

  • Nice Video!

  • hey, is there anyone who knows a school of filipino martial arts in cebu?

  • @cautioneway u want to learn? just go to the natives...

  • @cautioneway Look for doce pares. They're arguably kinda the real deal

  • haha the sign in the backs not real

  • Guess I should shut-up, but can't. Pro's hit and get hit, which most martial arts don't do. Hitting and getting hit adds reality to training. Some shit only works when not getting hit. Many pro matches go 12 rounds standing up, where an elbow could have ended it, or a knee, eye-gouge, shot to the throat, etc. Boxing is great. Dirty boxing is training where players expect a knife. Most boxers would be hard pressed against a knife. They are not the same and each is good. Master Ron Saturno

  • Sad to note most Filipino abandoned their very own martial arts, they preferred taekwondo and karate..

  • some moves look like a jeet kune do.nice video

  • These moves would be great with a number of systems if you added them, mainly bjj or jujutsu etc... To the person that said he sparred against a real boxer, most of the time you will not be fighting pro boxers on the street because most pro boxers are not going to be scrapping on the street because their hands are considered weapons and can be charged with a felony for hurting someone with their fist. Secondly, these moves are usually combined with filipino dumog which is a grappling system.

  • First you have no idea who are going to scrap on the street. Second anyone fighting on the street can be charged with assault...you cannot consent to a street fight so whether you are boxer or a guy who has never trained the law is the same

  • Are you sure.... I hear that if you have training in a fighting system and you get into a fight the case leans against you.. at least here in canada... I could be wrong it was only heresay

  • I cannot speak for the laws in Canada. But here in the U.S.A whether you are trained or not you cannot consent to a street fight. In other words a guy says :I'm gona kick your ass." You stand up and say

  • give it your best shot. You beat his ass. You will be prosecuted. Trained or untrained. You must prove any action was self-defense...consenting to a street fight is not self-defense

  • I learned this the hard way. Had Criminal and Civil charges pressed against me. Was held only on civil liability and had to pay a huge sum.

  • @methodtraining Criminal and civil charges are separate things. It's not what you say but what you do. If you say "give it your best shot" but just stand there and he starts to attack you, that would still be self defense as he started the fight. However, you cannot use excessive force or you may be legally charged. Also, whether you are legally cleared or not, self defense or not, you can still be civilly charged for damage to the attacker even if it was self defense.

  • Kind of like the situation where a burglar broke into a house, landed on a kitchen knife that was left out and was injured. He sued the people that owned the house and got a large pay out. Even though he was breaking the law and they weren't, and even though they didn't have any legal charges placed against them, they had a civil duty to pay for the damage costs. So be aware that even in self defense, you may have to fork out a lot of cash in a legal situation.

  • @sinhaserpente trying to prove who started a street fight is harder then trying to prove what came first the chicken or egg. In every situation I have been involved in or had friends involved in their is either no witness or conflicting witnesses. Everyone saw something different. my only point was if you get into a street fight you better be ready to pay out your ass at the very least. and without great legal representation it could get much worse.

  • @methodtraining True, it depends if there are unbiased witnesses that are prepared to testify, if not then it it would be very hard. Sometimes it's just better to let them beat you up lol. Cover up, duck your head and get them to punch you in the skull. They'll probably leave you alone after they hurt their hand and see you're not fighting back. It works well if you know how to fight and defend/ take a punch and if the situation isn't life threatening or overly serious.

  • I receommend everyone learn the law. It will beat you ass worse then any fight. :)

  • Hear ye hear ye those are words of wisdom ..... cheers

  • i mean, this is just boxing along with a few elbows and kicks.... if i was a small framed asian who had mastered i dont know say, judo or karate, and i was fighting some big nigga, i could still take him to the ground and snap his neck, even if he was a master at this. because all it is is boxing. I can box, shit i got a cold stand up game, but take me to the ground im finished

  • there's also locks, arm breaks. It also depends how well you train as a fighter size is only one part of it all.

  • this is not just boxing..all kali or panantukan movement are based on weapon techniques, like knife, machete, or stick..That's why it's deadly. They even usually train with weapon first, then they go with empty hands technique.

I agree if i were small asian dude, i would definitely wont fight big shit crack nigga empty handed..one small knife makes big difference if you know how to use it properly..

  • I love panantukan. But am now training with a former top 10 cruiserweight boxer and 99% of it went out the window. He literally destroyed me. My only recommend is to make sure you spar this against a guy with real hands. I gotten eaten up.

  • Yeah but look at the techniques. If you're not going to use the elbow strikes and kicks then you are screwed. When you're just sparring with someone you're probably not going to hit them with a elbow. Just a thought.

  • I see what you are saying and understand your point. But we really went at it. I was trying to use my destructions and entries and brother I can tell you it is pure fantasy. I respect anyone who chooses to disagree. I thought different before I met Mike. He hit me hard, fast, was in and out of range and using angles on me that made me look stupid. Everyone find a good former boxer and ask them to go a few...I would love to hear your experience.

  • in my opinion, i wouldn't fight professional boxers head to head..(fighting proffessional boxing in a ring would be the stupidest thing for me) of course it's going to be difficult if not possible to win. they train 5-8 hours a day, and i train 3-6 hours a week..do the math!

The point of self defense is to take the fight to a place where your opponent never saw it coming, use anything you can use to win the fight. element of surprise is the key role in urban fighting!

  • I agree urban fighting surprise is important. I should not have used my friend who is the former pro boxer as the example. My point is in my experience and opinion boxers have far better techniques and training methods to make someone functional in the stand up game. Again it just an opinion.

  • As far as taking a fight to where your opponent never saw it coming...how do you do that when you do not know what your adversary knows.

  • That's what is called element of surprised. Actually I know someone(actually my friend) he fought a professional boxer in a club. The boxer guy started the fight he teased my friend's girlfriend, he is a total jerk. Everybody in that club knows not to mess with the boxer guy. I usually train with my friend to use anything, ashtray, beer bottle chair, etc. And it worked.

  • cont'd

My friend tried not to verbally fought back, he pretend to be calm, then when the boxer guy is a little bit calmer, he used beer bottle, smashed the fucker right on his head, caused the boxer with 11 stiches. he won the fight, but sadly he lost in trial. so maybe the best way is not to fight as long as your life is not at stake.

  • agreed. I was in a fight 2 years and 1 month ago...why do i remember the date..I was sued for 18,000 dollars and lost.

  • cont,d

The gas station tape clearly shows him get out of his car and start the fight...keep in mind he was a former college Ball player. 6' 5 300 plus pounds. I won the fight and lost the war.

  • well.... The good old take down for example... but anyone who knows how to fight are always going to be watching for it... so thats were the fakes comes into play... and good timing ... If they are not a complete wrestler or grappler they will stand and exchange.. then you stand and exchange just long enough for them to think that thats whats going to continue... then suddejnly fake high and go for the shoot.....it. takes a keen intellect to corectly enterpreut the opponet.

  • Again no disrespect to anyones opinion. I think it is a great art. I spent countless hours on it. But my experience woke me up...actually put me to sleep. The second time we fought I thought I was ready...nope got knocked out in maybe 20 seconds

  • I have no doubt their are some fantasic guys out their who make it work. But after my experience I have went deep into boxing and have improved dramatically for it. Best of luck to whatever you guys choose. Much respect.

  • groin hit. ouchie....

  • YOU look gay and ineffective , get a life.

  • yes that's right. I bet handicapped ppl who know 'kali' will stab and rip your balls apart easily you stupid faggot.. This technique is thought to special forces and law enforcement all around the world you fool! don't talk shit if you know nothing about something you stupid fuck.

  • Smooth and precise - exactly how it should be, favorting this video. Can't wait to see what else you put up. Take care.

  • beautiful execution

  • This is the deadliest art!!

  • Brazilian Jujitsu is one of the deadliest arts.... this, not so much.

  • I agree that Brazillian Jiujitsu is deadly for a cage fight..I also train BJJ. But in real street fight when it involves weapon and when there is no rule e.g you can strike, bite, stab or pull someone's penis..BJJ is a really BAD idea, not to mention when you're dealing with multiple attackers..

  • and moreover, this self defense method is also thought to special forces like SAS. due to it's practicality and deadliness.

  • @713JayMoney It's the gayest art. Brazilians love gay martial arts because 90% of its population are homos.

  • @101ers77 obvious troll is obvious.

  • Comment removed

  • @Beygodlike You won't even kick my ass with your BJJ. You will actually rape me. BJJ is loving not fighting.

  • @101ers77 So you won't have difficult to beat me don't ya? :)

  • great flow!

  • Great job Flavio!!! You look great!

  • Nice video, only for me as non expert it goes quite quick. to understand the moves.
