@COWBOYMACLEOD Not Jerry, but Michael E. Knight who portrayed Thaddeus Gardner Martin from 1982-2011. At times he looks like Jerry Seinfield for some reason. Shane McDermott actually appeared on the show 5 years later in June 1995, leaving in late 1996.

This premiered in August I guess or possibly September 1990. An August 1990 opening I recently saw has the same line-up as my May 21, 1990 opening.

I would think this rare version of this opening came in July or August 1990. It was replaced in November that year.
