@utilisimaful Hola Karen, usted puede comprar estas herramientas de DuraGrit en el webstore del duragrit y serán enviadas a usted en Honduras vía USPS
This is an interesting point. These cutting wheels 'grind' - not cut - like a traditional saw blade. You'd have to work very hard to cut a finger off! :-)
Up to 35,000 rpm, depending on the material being cut. Faster for hard and soft woods and fiberglass. Slower for things such as soft plastics to reduce friction and melting.
Rule of thumb - start slow and increase to optimum speed for specific material.
@xaboo The point here is, it is testament to this small cutting wheel, that if you don't have a RotoZip or larger power saw, you CAN actually lay a laminate floor with the CW5 and a Dremel. A great tool to have in your tool kit, that can do some real work, despite its small size.
Like any power tool, adjust speed and pressure to achieve optimum cutting performance. Burning is caused by friction, which in turn is due to a combination of too much speed and too much pressure.
The EZ544 is the same as the DuraGrit CW5, except that the center hole is a 'bow-tie' shape, to fit the Dremel EZ-Lock system. Otherwise, they are identical.
It is a way to demonstrate that the same carbide cutting wheel will cut soft wood like balsa and hard wood like 1/2" oak, both with eae and with a sanded finish.
@bwoodcracker "who uses a power tool to cut balsa wood??"
... Someone who wants to demonstrate that this remarkable cutting wheel that cuts balsa so smoothly with a beautiful sanded finish, also cuts oak, laminate floor, fiberglass, pine, carbonfibre, ABS, PVC, rubber, leather etc.... :-)
Yes, all DuraGrit (SR) tools, work with all Dremel hi-speed drills and any 1/8" chuck or collet, hi-speed drill. They are rated to 35,000 rpm.
DuraGrit doesn't recommend these tools be used on metal. Soft metal such as aluminum can clog the grits, unless they are sprayed beforehand with a stearate such SprayOn Dry Zinc mold release by Krylon
At 4:00, a SR-SD2-080, an 80 grit, 1/2" carbide sanding drum is mounted on a standard rubber arbor and is sanding a channel in poplar.
If you don't have a standard 1/2" rubber arbor, then the SR-HT2-080 is a better bet, as it doesn't require a rubber mandrel and does double duty as a mini hole saw, as the open end is also coated in carbide grit.
DuraGrit doesn't recommend that these tools be used on metal.
These carbide cutting and shaping wheels are not recommended for steel or non-ferrous metals. The Dremel EZ Lock Metal Cutter is the tool to use for metals.
i buy that macine for one reson to cut aluminum and steel but she cut nothing its bad we know how to cut wood with out this machine where is the metal ??!!!!!
As you see in the movie, Dura-GRIT carbide cutting wheels and the Dremel equivalents, are designed to cut hard and soft woods, fiberglass, carbonfiber, laminates, ABS, PVC, rubber, leather and many more materials.
To cut metal(s) using a Dremel drill, you need to buy wheels specifically designed for metal, such as the Dremel EZ406 for example.
The Dura-GRIT CS4 cutting/shaping wheel has a slightly thicker kerf than the CW4 or CW5 cutting wheels, as it is also coated with carbide grit on one face. It is however a very good option if you want cutting and shaping functions.
It was a Dremel Multi-Pro, with a Dremel 575 right angle drive. That is what you see in the movie frame that doesn't look like the nose of a Dremel drill :-) The 575 right angle drive is a great addition to your Dremel. It adds directional stability and enables you to work 'inboard' on large, flat surfaces, without the body of the Dremel getting in the way.
For the record, Dura-GRIT carbide bits and cutters work equally as well in all hi-speed multi-tools.
Hello fine. I live in Brazil and liked much of their videos of hard sierras-grit, you work with Artezanato?
you could give me some tips on where to get one of these hills, because I have 16 years and am starting to work with Artezanato more tools I have no omen if I had a mini retifer and saw that everything was more here in Brazil I do not will find that you can help me. thanks.
" i believe the so called "oak" in this video is not oak.. you never get oak to cut like that.looks more like cherry..."
The three examples of oak in the demo (flooring plank, the dark stained quarter round and decorative trim), are indeed oak.
And you are right, you usually don't get oak to cut like that but that's the whole point. With Dura-GRIT carbide cutting wheels, you do! Amazing considering their size, eh? :-)
The carbide bits are the key element in this video! They enable the Dremel, or Proxxon or Foredom (or Black & Decker RTX or WeCheer or Ryobi or any other hi-speed drill), to do some real work! They are fantastic performers, love the high speed and last a very long time!
Dremel is the machine (drill) and the bits doing the cutting and shaping are called Dura-Grit bits. They are available on line in the duragrit store, or most places that Dremels are sold.
A power carver/drilling/milling machine. Check the description for manufacturers of such. There cool, can get all sorts of adaptions for them, like these dura-grit bits making them super versatile. I use a proxxon micromot system for wood carving. Loadsa fun
