Theres no doubt that no all of the bible should be taken literally but what some so convienently forget is that the Bible makes it clear when it's intention is to be taken as an alagory or a simile by using works such as, "like" or "as". Duh.

I actually took 4 years of hebraic studies and and 1 year of greek in a secular college and understand full well the poetic nature of many of the text. But I unlike you, dont think that it's beauty makes it any less true.
Of course the Bible shouldn't all be taken literally. Ancient Hebrew writing was extremely illustrative and poetric. They taught through stories and imagry.
However, you are greatly mistaken if you think that "like" and "as" mean much in the Bible. That is English grammar my friend. If you know anything about foreign languages, you know things usually don't translate directly or don't translate at all. Plus, you have to always understand the original context--you fail at this.
Whether you're using the Hebrew words "kān" or "'aniy" or the english words "like" or "as" the author always makes it clear by their context whether or not they intend to be taken literally. Even you should know that.
Are we really going to play symantics? They will use like or as, yes but they will also within the context communicate their intention even if they dont use, like or as.

If you dont believe in heaven or the lake of fire as taught in scripture then there's not much more i need to say. It's obvious why there's so much missunderstanding bc you believe the parts you like and alagorize the parts you dont.
Theres no doubt that no all of the bible should be taken literally but what some so convienently forget is that the Bible makes it clear when it's intention is to be taken as an alagory or a simile by using works such as, "like" or "as". Duh.

The problem is that you look at scripture too simplistically, which should be expected because people like Parsley don't actually teach Biblical understanding. They preach indoctrination through repetition rather than though education and understanding. The Bible is an ancient text written in Hebrew and Greek, and it was written for ancient Hebrews.

Of course the Bible shouldn't all be taken literally. Ancient Hebrew writing was extremely illustrative and poetric. They taught through stories and imagry.
However, you are greatly mistaken if you think that "like" and "as" mean much in the Bible. That is English grammar my friend. If you know anything about foreign languages, you know things usually don't translate directly or don't translate at all. Plus, you have to always understand the original context--you fail at this.

The Bible wasn't written for modern Americans in modern American English. How do you honestly think you can understand the Bible without extensive studying of the Hebrew and Greek languages, and without extensive studying of ancient cultures? Modern Italian jokes, when translated, aren't funny in modern English for crying out loud. Pursuing Biblical knowledge is not as easy as picking up an English Bible—golly, English Bibles don't always agree on translations and don't use the same words.

I've seen the Miracle Healing CBN report. Miracles are why I still believe in God. Though I don't chuck up everything to a miracle. I believe in miracles, but I generally don't buy into "faith healers." I approach then with utter caution.

I knew what you meant. Remember though, he will "receive his reward" (Mat. 6:2-23) in the meantime let us not be divisive in front of such a great cloud of witnesses (Heb. 12:1). If anything our plan should be to take him to the side first (Matt. 18:15), not tearing him down in front of everyone. I am sure as a pastor you know how people can get.

His major ministry Bridge of Hope has touched hurting places around the world which include North America, Sudan, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Mozambique, India, Kosovo, Venezuela, and many other nations! The reason he has bodyguards is that he has got letters from people saying they were going to kill him. If I got letters saying that I would have bodyguards too. ( My cousin has personally saw some of the letters)

There could be a lot of reasons why his son isn't healed, maybe its part of God's plan, maybe that if his son was normal Rod Parsley wouldn't be who he is today. Healing is all about faith.. anyone can get healed from anything if they have enough faith, and when you had a son who is sick like that.. saw him grow up.. and thats all u know him as.. then its hard to have faith to see him as somthing els.. there for if theres no faith.. no healing.

Type in its jubile 4-ron parsley. I'm not a big parsley fan, but in the video he talks about his son who is doing way better than the doctors expected. Let me clear this up, Ron doesn't believe that he is this great healer, he believes that the holy ghost inside him is using him to heal others. I don't know how true that is but that is what he believes.
